We stayed at this park for 7 nights. Our truck broke down at the last park in Michigan and was in the dealership for 5 days. We called ahead to this park and tried to push our stay date by 1 night and was told that was impossible. The 1 night we were going to miss, we were offered a future 1 night stay within the next year. As we are traveling from the West Coast that offer was not appealing to us. We were then offered to spend the $85+ dollars in their store as a credit, also not appealing but... Read More

We were then offered to spend the $85+ dollars in their store as a credit, also not appealing but better than losing the $85+. As it worked out the dealership in Frankenmuth MI returned the truck early and we were able to check-in on our scheduled date but late at 8pm. Now for the park, the sites are very tight, small pull through sites. The park was extremely crowded on the weekend; we got lucky and had good camping neighbors on both sides for the weekend. We can see how this would be a horrible place to stay if you were between 2 rowdy camping parties on each side, we saw campsites like that. Also this park allows golf carts, and there were plenty. Lots of golf carts with adults drinking and lots with teenagers driving. After all that being said this park was nice and we had a great stay. They have a lake to fish, a pool, a good size but old laundry, and the restrooms were decent but old with a musty smell. Overall a bit pricy and a good stay and we would stay here again.

Comments Stayed 4 nights during the week primarily for kids to enjoy the advertised water activities and inflatable playgrounds out on the lake at the beach. Except they CLOSE the beach area all weekdays. So you could walk on the beach and view the fun stuff out on the lake but could never swim there or play on the inflatables. Which may have been a good thing because the beach sand, grassy area and playground there are all covered in gross goose poop. It is a trick to walk around there and not... Read More

Except they CLOSE the beach area all weekdays. So you could walk on the beach and view the fun stuff out on the lake but could never swim there or play on the inflatables. Which may have been a good thing because the beach sand, grassy area and playground there are all covered in gross goose poop. It is a trick to walk around there and not step on poop. I’m not sure how sanitary that makes the beach and water there. We did stop into the restroom while playing at the volleyball court next to the beach. (We had to clear the sand of goose poop to play). The restrooms were pretty dirty. I’m talking actual dirt. Didn’t look like anyone had cleaned them in ages. Based on that experience, we did not go in any other restrooms at the campground during our stay. The pool water was very warm. They post their hours as open til 8pm but they actually close at 7:45pm because of “rest period”. Which is ok but post your hours that it closes at 7:45pm. A last minute trip for a quick dip in the pool for the kids was crushed when we arrived to be told they were closing in 5 minutes when we thought we had 20 minutes. The pool lounge chairs need a heck of a good cleaning, spraying and wipe down as they were inexcusably dirty. Ants crawled all over you and your belongings while at the pool. Walking around the lake was also disappointing. There is quite a bit of trash floating in the water and lining the bank. One of the kids said the time they came with a friend’s family they all spent time picking up trash along the lake. Apparently it’s an ongoing issue the staff hasn’t addressed. Before arriving, I had tried to contact the campground via phone and email. Phone goes to voicemail, messages and emails are not returned. Our campsite was full hookup in the 30 amp section. This area is close to the main road and there is road noise. Sites are shady and very close to one another. There is gravel for the trailers and tow vehicle to park, a concrete pad for the picnic table, picnic table was in good condition and newer, fire ring with a cooking grate, small amount of grassy area at the site (our fire ring was surrounded by mud), all the utilities worked fine. In our section the playground was very old and consisted of two swings, a old fashioned slide, and a rope climbing apparatus. There was plenty of grassy area by the playground for lawn games or kicking balls around. Very disappointed in our our stay one, due to the lack of cleanliness, especially with all the emphasis on the importance of sanitizing since COVID and two, there was no adjustment in price for having the beach area closed ALL week to swimmers despite that being the main attraction for staying there.
