Does not allow dogs to be walked off camp site!
After seeing the Ark (which was amazing) We were getting tired of driving and just happened to find this hidden gem. What a nice surprise !!! We called just minutes before arriving. Beautiful place….ponds….trees. Nice layout. Very friendly employees. Gated. Quiet. Nicely mowed and maintained. Do not understand the 3 1/2 star rating. Should be much higher. We stayed the previous night in a Good Sam “Dump” that got a higher rating !!! This place is nice.
Do not choose this place if you have a dog!!! You are not allowed to walk your dog even on a leash. It may only be on your site. Only place we have ever stayed like that...in hundreds of stays. Very well kept grounds. Quite a few residents and summer home trailers.
We were very impressed with this campground. We stayed in a large pull thru. The sites and campground were well maintained. There is a large rec room and several covered picnic areas, as well as a general store for some needed supplies food and drink. The owners and staff were always availab le, friendly, helpful (With camping questions) and knowledgeable about things to do in the area. They worked hard to ensure a pleasant time for their guests. At the campground itself there were many family... Read More

At the campground itself there were many family activities - gem mining, pool, fishing, playground, bikes, etc. We even saw the owner driving many kids around behind his tractor for a hayride.
I used the handicapped restroom/shower and was very impressed. It was a large lockable room with a bench. The shower itself had a pull down bench and hand held shower. There were also many hooks and shelves for toiletries. If you need a handicapped shower, as I do, you probably already know most places do not have the attention to detail that is needed, but Maple Lakes gets a total thumbs up!
We ended up staying longer than expected because of all the things to do here and in the area, and will be returning in the future.

We were traveling from Indiana to Buffalo NY in June 2017 and needed to stay the night. Could not contact park due to problems with telephone line which was not their fault. Even though we could not contact them, we went there anyway. The front gate was closed and difficult to contact someone but finally found a box to contact the office. Employees were friendly and park was clean. Major downfall for me was if you own a dog, they are not pet friendly. They may allow pets, but you cannot walk... Read More

They may allow pets, but you cannot walk your pet at all except in your own campsite which is only 10X50. I would not return to this campground because of this. The place has 2 ponds and would be a great place to stay to walk your pets, but you can't.

Quiet, Very quiet. They allow dogs HOWEVER you can't walk your dog around the RV area you have to take them to the dog walk, which I am ok with..less poop in my area and no barking while folks are walking. The store has a ton of beer, so no need to stock up, they also have bundles of firewood for $4.99 which is cheaper than store--nearest is Beuhler or Walmart at 5nm (home depot close too) I dinged the restroom only due to very short commode to door area...im tall and my knees hit the door when... I dinged the restroom only due to very short commode to door area...im tall and my knees hit the door when I closed...BUT VERY CLEAN...Super Clean in fact. NO issues at all besides the door.
I read all the other reviews and have to agree..the staff is super nice and super friendly...No issues at all...Enjoyed it and would stay again in a heartbeat. Oh...and no cable, however the HD TV did pick up most of the local news - NBC, CBS, Fox, etc.
The WIfI is not free, you have to pay--but we just use verizon pay as you go "Puck" for our wifi as it is more secure and cheaper to just pay for data as we need it.

Very nice property. The campground charged $3.00 each for our grandchildren and $5.00 each for their parent to have a day pass to visit us. Though the pool was great and well maintained we felt that it should be included with our rate for them to visit. The water was not drinkable on the property though fine for flushing the toilets.
Clean and friendly staff. Very well maintained. Pool was exceptionally cleaned every day. Gate access
Only stayed the one night as I was on my way home. This is a campground I would come back to and stay for a while. Peaceful, off from the highway. Only problem is their pet policy, dogs are not allowed off your site unless you drive them to a pet area.
