This is a beautiful RV park with hard surface roads throughout the park. Many sites are double wide, hard surfaced and very level. Space 108 is one of these. Many sites have 10' x 10' covered pavilions with wooden picnic tables underneath. BBQ grills are present for grilling and fire rings if you want a bonfire. Firewood can be purchased since there is little "dead fall" in the area. There are boat ramps for easy access to Joe Pool Lake. It has a camp store with many of the usual needs. WiFi is limited to an area near the camp store in the parking lot. The park is a very popular spot on holiday weekends so book early if you think you want to go on a holiday weekend. For quick in-out, be sure to register your license plate with the gate. There is an automatic reader with a by-pass lane for those that are registered. Rates increase significantly on holiday weekends as well. Park often sells out on these days. Day use play ground and canoe rental is available on site. Tent camping is also OK. The grounds are maintained very well. This is a city run park, not a private park. Camp officials are very informative and friendly. Stay here with confidence that your visit will be pleasant. Park access is only 1/4 mile off SH 360 at Ragland.

Great place to stay in the summer, because there is so much shade from the trees. Easy access to the lake. Very well-maintained by the City of Grand Prairie. I took my family of four, including two kids under 5, and they had a blast on the beach and playground. Location is in the middle of the DFW Metroplex, so easy access to everything. Two nights = $55. Things to know: No septic hook-ups at camp site, must use communal dump stations. Bathrooms have showers, but no doors. It's more for washing the sand off.

This campground was recommended to us by several people I work with and also that live in the area. I was sadly disappointed and will never return. Never were we offered or given any Good Sam's discount. The amount is not a factor just the option would have been nice. The bathrooms were deplorable. From the outside, they look great - this is probably where whoever rated them got their idea that is was a 9.5?? Clearly, they never entered any one of the bathrooms on the campground. The interiors were Prison chic, stainless steel toilets, sinks, etc., the floors were concrete, no tile in site. There were no way to use the sink, nowhere to place a tooth brush, tooth paste, or toiletry bag. The showers were on a time handle maybe lasted twenty second then you had to hit it again and again and again. I understand they didn't want someone to leave the water running but this was beyond ridiculous. Many of the bathrooms were closed with portapotties in front of them. The grills at each site were rusted and exceeded their life long ago. I refused to put aluminum foil over them and cook for fear they would fall apart from the heat. The golf carts we rented were a falling apart joke. We left one day early, and the staff never credited us for the additional day or the two days of golf cart use. The staff also did not ask why we were leaving? What kind of customer friendly atmosphere is that? There were very little amenities. The only good thing I have to say about this campground is that it is right on Joe Pool Lake, all of the sites were a great size and I liked the covered picnic tables at each site. Out of over 150 camp sites less then 25 have full hook ups. Expanding the number of sites that have sewer hook ups is something the operators should look into.
