This place is a hidden GEM. It was not busy while we were there. It's quiet and beautiful. You can hear the crickets and critters at night. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended a few days to make it a full week. We can not think of a better place to stay while visiting the Carthage area.

We went as a club rally and reserved our spaced 10 months earlier. When we arrived they didn't make any attempt to put our sites close to our rally building or close to each other. Hard the interact as a group when we were all over the park. Also had a member who wanted a pull through and were told that they book all the back in sites first before any pull throughs! The real kicker is one member had to move their motorhome after 2 days because someone had paid an extra $10 to reserve a site!... Read More

We have stayed here many times and will continue to stay in the future. We have a large 5th wheel and there are many sites that will accommodate with easy in and out. Generally, very quiet and no real road noise. Never use the restrooms, so cannot comment on them. WiFi works well, even though we do have our own. Not far from good places to eat and shop.

The sites were flat, with easy to access hook-ups and nicely spaced from our neighbors. The interior roads were paved. The park was very clean with good WIFI and free cable TV. We didn’t use the laundry or restrooms but our puppy enjoyed the enclosed dog park. There is a small store. The park filled up quickly on this Friday night so I would recommend reservations at least on weekends. We plan to return again and enjoy the surrounding area.

Nice and quiet park, perfect for a break we needed from highway traveling. Fresh baked cookies for us at check-in, very friendly staff! Sites were roomy and well kept, nice pull-thru. Several good choices for food in nearby town. Would definitely stay here again.

We only the spent the night, but the experience was memorable. Greeted by a friendly smile, fresh cookies and an escort to our pull thru site. Well maintained and clean. Very peaceful, easy navigation. I will happily stay here again if the opportunity presents itself.

Cute little RV park on the outskirts of Carthage, MO. Prefect location away from the interstate but still easy access. Also made for quick trips into Joplin, MO, which was the reason for our stay. Super friendly staff, very helpful if needed. Wide pull through sites, water pressures, power, sewer, cable all good to go. Wifi decent (no issues for email), though we didn't really use it for streaming, so can not comment on speed for that. Nice, rustic setting, lots of trees, lots of birds... Read More

We used this Good Sam Park as a one-night stay on our latest trip. Parking for registration is located right in front of the office. The staff was nice and helpful and led us directly to our site. Park Location and Access this Park is conveniently located approximately a half-mile East of I-49. All roads from the highway to the park are easy to navigate for any size rig. The same inside the park it’s well marked and easy to navigate. You can barely hear some road noise from the Interstate but it’s nothing that will annoy you. Once inside your RV you shouldn’t hear a thing as it’s a very quiet and peaceful location. Sites and Spaces we chose a site in row 22-28 that had pull-thru spaces. All the sites are gravel and for the most part they all appear to be fairly level. Our site was level from side-to-side and just slightly off from front to rear. The area around the site was mostly grass with several large shade trees. At the end of this row, directly across from site 28, is the dog park. Power, Water, and Sewer all were conveniently located, and the power supply had no issues at all. We use a Progressive Industries HW50C and all the electrical parameters were spot-on during our stay. Water pressure was very good but note that the park rules require that you use a pressure regulator. The in-ground sewer connection was conveniently located. The Park rules also state that your sewer hose connection must be airtight where it connects to the outlet. Wi-Fi, Satellite, Cable, and OTA there is free Wi-Fi in the Park which was able to achieve 19 Mbps down and 2 Mbps up on the BigRedBarn1 network and 4 Mbps down and about 1 Mbps up on the BigRedBarn3 network. AT&T (LTE) had 3 bars and Verizon (4G) had 2 bars. Verizon’s 4G had 35 Mbps down and 8 Mbps up. AT&T LTE was able to hit 184 Mbps down and 15 Mbps up. Satellite reception could be an issue as there are trees blocking the southern view to quite a few sites. From our site (#27) our roof-top mounted DISH system was never able to lock onto a satellite due to trees. However, if we were going to be here for longer than a day or two, I would relocate our Dish to a ground location with a clear southern view and I’m pretty sure that reception would not be an issue. With all the great Wi-Fi connections, we were able to watch everything over Roku with no problems. We were also able to pick up 14 local stations over the air and they all had great reception with clear HD pictures. There is also free cable provided at each site. Bathrooms, Showers, and Laundry are all located in the same building located next to the office. Bathrooms and showers are well maintained, climate controlled, and clean. The laundry room is clean, climate controlled, and has plenty of washers and dryers. Dog Park they have two separate dog parks that are right next to each other. They are both fenced and secure with good strong gates to each one. They have benches to sit on, water for Fido, and there is a doggie-bag dispenser and trash can right at the entry gate. Around the perimeter of the Park, are grassy areas to walk your dog and they have doggie-bag dispensers located in multiple locations. Amenities the Park has a Central fire pit & barbecue area, picnic tables, swings, and Adirondack chairs around the fire pit where free wood is provided. There is a family outside game area with Corn hole, a ladder game, Connect Four, and Yahtzee. Summary A nice park that is great for an overnight stay due to its proximity to I-49. Even though we weren’t offered the home-made cookies or dog treats that everyone raves about, I would not hesitate to recommend this park, or to stay here again. I’ve also included several photos that should provide a good overview of the park and amenities.

When I informed the staff that the restroom had dead bugs on the floor they said it happens at this time of the year. When I informed then the the dryer in the laundry room was ineffective they said the machines were leased out. Evidently the staff accept no responsibility for the conditions in their campground and were rude in their response to me.

Greeted with Homemade Chocolate Chip cookies and dog treats for our 2 fur babies. Very friendly from front desk to the person who took us to our site. Cleanest campground we have seen. Very well maintained. Pull thru sites with concrete pad for picnic table. Dog park with 2 fenced areas which was nice if you have big dogs and someone else has small dogs. We will stay here again next time we come thru. Route 66 runs thru Carthage.

We've stayed here twice and will likely stay again. It is very quiet and peaceful. It's a beautiful park. Staff is always friendly and they welcome you with a chocolate chip cookie. We had a premium pull thru site, with lots of room between us and one neighbor. Spot was pretty level and long. There are shade trees, although maybe not exactly where they will give you shade.

I was very impressed with the grounds, they were landscaped and looked beautiful. My fur babies really enjoyed the dog park which was set up very nice for large and small dogs. Overall one of the best campgrounds I have stayed at.

Very nice place. Bathrooms were very clean. Very thoughtful play area for the kiddos to play and a seperate swing set area. We had a shady spot and it was very quiet at night. Grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed watching the birds, squirrels, and bunnies. "The place was absolutely perfect!" my 9 year old added.

Sewage running in grass from multiple locations, water on bathroom floors for months, owners burn trash in the back. Owner was rude and yelled at us multiple times for uncalled for situations. Electric was well over standard, don't even think about their propane. $40 more than anyone else in town. If I could give a negative star I would. These people are con artist.

Screen name cause goodsam kept rejecting ideas. Folks were very friendly and helpful. The park was quiet, clean and a good place to spend the night. It is the home base of a number of workers installing the windmills in the area so there is usually someone there to talk with or just be friendly,

Nice, clean, shaded, no frills RV park with long and wide sites. Great customer service, with cookies upon arrival! YUM! Clean laundry room. Excellent location: close to Carthage, Joplin, and lots of Route 66 sites. Didn't use the restrooms, so can't comment on them. We'd stay here again.

October 22, 2019 This park was easy to get to and had plenty of room for our 40' Motorhome + 20' tow car. The full hook-ups were good with 50 amp service. We had cable TV + internet service. The laundry area & bathrooms were spotless. We got propane gas while here. The manager was excellent and very friendly. The cookies were welcomed and very good. The toy soldier she gave us recognizing and honoring our veterans was very nice. J-SHTX

The park had good sites for our 36ft 5th wheel.. (Flat and long) good cable, and wifi. There are a lot of big trees, so lots of shade in the campground. Was giving cookies and a package with maps and info on the surrounding area. This park is a little off the main hwy, however; it is worth the drive. Quiet. I feel, the park is geared more toward an older crowd. 40 and up. I didn't see any RVs with children. No pool, or playground. Pet friendly

Great stopover, next time plan to stay a few days. What a find, super nice people, big rig friendly. Never had to unhook our vehicle behind a 45 coach, led us to our site and showed us how to leave without hitting anything (important to most of us). Really nice park

lovingly maintained camp with some neat perks. A free cookie on arrival, fresh cinnamon buns ($) on order each morning. Xmas decorations very pleasing. Our site was spacious, check in and escort expedient. Quiet. Mature trees. Layout to suit those trees, so one site is this away, that one another way.

We stayed here for one night...were guided to our site by office lady who was very helpful. Our needs are few: a quiet place, good hookups, good spacing (meaning not next to someone else when there are plenty of spaces), good internet, good restaurant(s) nearby, nearby Walmart, etc. This place meets those needs and more. Close to the interstate, but very, very quiet...Will stay here again for sure.

We spent one night here during our recent trip and found this to be lovely RV park. The park is easy to access from the interstate and is located in a country setting that was quiet with minimal road noise. The registration process was easy with warm chocolate chip cookies, dog treats and other goodies awaiting our arrival and an invitation to a camper BBQ that night. The office team was friendly, helpful, and escorted us to our pull thru gravel site with plenty of room for our 40 ft motorhome with tow.
