We just pulled in today, but so far, this is a rare gem. With a 38 ' class A and a tow, we wanted something that didn't take us into the city proper. It was very easy to get to and we were delighted to find many trees in the campground and an easy pull through paved lot. Not too close to neighbors, a picnic table, all utilities, and a pretty river within viewing and walking distance. Two minor reasons we didn't give this park all 5 stars: campsites were not well marked and it was confusing to find even with the map; and the showers were very small with not enough hanging apparatuses. Plus, the entire floor was wet and gritty making it impossible to put feet into clean, dry shoes. However, those were minor inconviences when compared to the other attributes. Highly recommend this park.

We stayed at Maumelle Park for 8 nights. Our site was on the river. Although it rained almost the whole time we were there, we didn't experience any flooding. As in most COE parks, the staff are "work campers" and were very friendly. This is a park that we frequented when we lived in the LR area in the 1980s and 90s. Sites are available riverside (Arkansas River) or inland. Riverside sites are shaded and give a very good view of sunrise and moon rise.
