The good, the bad and the ugly. Sadly, this campground displays all three. First, the good. The sites are great. Paved, level and spacious. The setting is beautiful, just a short distance from picturesque Scotts Bluff National Monument. A huge dog walking area is available "next door" at 5 Rocks Amphitheate. The Bad? Well not really bad, just frustrating. Pulling in for the first time, there's a lack of signage to get you on the right road to the office for registration. When you get a site map, the correct way to your site is not indicated. That might lead to driving around the campground to get pointed in the right direction for your hookups. And wifi is quite bad, particularly in the eastern section of the grounds. And it is painfully slow. The ugly? The bathrooms. Security is not good. The rooms can be accessed through a meeting room, which when in use, makes using the bathrooms and showers rather unsettling, as you can hear everything going on in that room. The shower heads are barely functional. Corroded, they obviously are never checked for function. And there's the mold on and under the shower mats. Not pleasant. Hard to understand how an otherwise lovely, well kept campground can have such substandard bathrooms. Someone is not doing their job.

Stayed 3 nights, outstanding service! Camp and facilities were very clean. Camp sites were concrete pads and level. Very safe park. Golf was 1.5 miles up the road. Shopping was easy to get to. One of the best parks we have stayed at!

After a long road trip across the south this was one of the finest RV Parks we came across. Easy access, large, level sites. Very clean restrooms, friendly, courteous attendant. The area had just gone threw a 100 year snow storm and was digging out. Highly recommend this facility.

Quiet park with great views of Scottsbluff National Monument. The park is small and organized around a grass park area in the center. There are small to midsized trees around the park, but most of the sites are satellite friendly. The camp host was very nice and helpful when we checked in. We did not check out the bathrooms or showers and the wifi did not work for us. The park is very affordable and we would stay here again when in the area.

Hesitant to make this wonderful little city-run park known but figure that the odds are most of you will not venture way out in the prairies of N/W Nebraska. Only 30 sites with a mix of FHU and lesser utilities. There is a dump station on the property if you don't get a sewer site. The sites are level and widely spaced with beautiful grass areas. Roads and surfaces all paved and clean. Sites were arranged to maximize the view of the giant bluffs nearby (Scott's Bluff National Monument). Super friendly staff checks you in thru a window in his tiny office. No bells or whistles here.no playground, pool or bouncy house.which means fresh air and peace and quiet. No large shade trees so sat reception good. Close to shopping (Walmart) and "dining" in Scotts Bluff. The main attraction in the area is the Scotts Bluff National Monument a journey back in time to Pioneer days, located at the natural landmark and marking the divergence of the Oregon, Mormon and California Trails, the wagon ruts are still visible in some areas.

This is a beautiful city owned RV park near Scotts Bluff Nat. Mon. Our view was of the bluff. We were surrounded by beautiful landscaping and spacious grassy areas. There is a very large fenced in grassy area for dogs and my boys loved the opportunity to run and exercise after 5 days on the road. The bathrooms were clean and private with electrical outlets by each mirror for plugging in accessories like hair dryers. Roads and RV sites inside the park are paved, spacious and level. Hook ups worked great. This was our favorite RV park of our 3 week "Oregon Trail/Lewis and Clark" trip. We will plan future trips to pass by this area so we can stay again. The price was extremely reasonable too! Kudos to the City of Gering. Everything was beautiful.

This is a very well maintained campground. Great long level pads 50 amp free cable, playground and nice showers and restrooms with ac! There is no pool unfortunately. We only stayed 1 night as just passing through. Must be a lake near by as there were other campers with boats! A great clean quiet campground.

Nicest Good Sam Park we have stayed in!! The lawns in front of your site are as large as a private residence yard! Beautiful trees and iris plants are in all sites which provide additional privacy. My dog votes this as his #1 park too!!!

Very nice city RV park near Scottsbluff National Monument (Oregon Trail). We stayed a week and found it a great stay; the park is good and there are numerous historical sites nearby associated with the Oregon Trail. The RV park is well maintained, has paved roads and very spacious sites - both pull-throughs and back-ins. There are shade trees, plus a large grassy area in the center, and a gate to an adjacent city park with playground equipment. The RV park is in Gering and next to Scottsbluff, so there are full services and supplies available nearby. All the utilities worked fine, the WIFI was generally OK but slow during prime times. Cable was good. The restrooms and laundry were clean and in good condition. Overall, our experience was great and would highly recommend it. Would return.

We arrived in March 2016 and stayed for a month. Being cold normally it wasn't a great time to be there, but the camp host was still always checking daily around the campground to ensure everyone was doing well... pipes were not breaking... cleanliness was being looked upon (animal types)... Very admirable! Also the restrooms were kept very clean, always! A very nice park kept maintained by the city mostly, and affordable. The camp host was very nice and also very accommodating.

This is not a fancy park but it is nicely laid out with trees and room between sites. Great view of ScottsBluff! The sites are long and level. WII FI works well enough although it had some downtime. Cable was fine with the little oddity of having a separate remote that you actually point to the box outside. It's quiet at night but picks up a bit in the morning as people leave for work. As it was off season, the office wasn't staffed a full day but we never had an issue getting in touch with someone. Staff were very friendly and were often seen working around the park. Although we never felt unsafe, it was nice to see patrol cars checking everything out. This park seems to be kind of in the middle of nowhere but it stays busy. We would return if we were in the area. We camped at Robidoux RV Park in a Motorhome.

I found this park to be better than the ratings as shown. Very clean and nice shower, lots of room in between RV's, and lost of grass for the dogs. I really didn't notice a problem with wifi as I used it

If you travel the Plains you may have encountered small towns with RV parking in their local parks, maybe even with plug-in, and been very thankful. Rv Parks can be few. Here in Gering this park is owned and operated by the city. This is a full service park with two onsite host families and full hookup on over 40 sites. The access roads are all blacktop and the pads level and long cement. The arrangement is odd, maybe done by a city committee, our site and a few others is pull-in and back-out. Which is ok there is a great view out our windshield. Other pull-throughs are double, the second unit will be nose to tail. Extensions for all your cords and hoses is always good to carry. The park is beautiful, lots of flowers and shrubbery, middle age trees have some to go yet, and expanses of green lawns which are auto sprinkled in the morning. This is all expertly maintained by city employees, it's their job. The sites are very far apart with lots of grass. Each site has a picnic table. Wi-Fi is just passable, can be ok but then bog down. Cable TV is excellent with over 100 channels. They issue you a remote to control your tv, it works. The laundry is clean and not too expensive. The bathrooms are functionally clean and adequate. The design is rather like camp bathrooms and you are reminded that this a city owned park. The showers are clean and hot. This park is really extraordinary, they could have gotten another rv between every site and people would still have stayed here. There is space and lots of good walking. The hosts are very helpful. You even see the police frequently because it is city property. A couple of permanents that are a little ragged don't take away from the totally pleasant atmosphere. Get a reservation for a site that suites your needs.
