First of all I’d like to state that we did not use laundry or bath/shower areas. We had a pull thru site. We stayed 3 days for our son’s wedding. We arrived late and campground contacted me directly to check our estimated arrival. It was going to be late so she gave me a site assignment. When we arrived it was clearly marked with relative information provided at our site. Very friendly, very helpful staff. Sites had mature trees some cement and some gravel. We had no issues with level of site. Grandkids stayed with us so they used the playground. It worked well for them. Dog park was nice, shaded and spacious compared to some. Pool appeared nice and clean but we had no time to use that either. It’s not a resort style property but it had more space around sites that resort style properties sometimes offer.
Campground was clean, QUIET and convenient. Staff were very friendly and courteous. We will be back.
I think this place has gotten a bad rap from reviewers. I did NOT see the toilet/shower area, because... hello... I have an RV. I have my own. That said, this is out in the country, near to Waco, near to a lovely River (that is currently overflowing it's banks). It has been raining for a week, there has been 6" in the last 4 days, so it is a bit swampy, but very navigable with nice gravel driveways. The owner called me to tell me to "wear your waders!" that the utilities hook ups are in standing water. She exaggerated it was a bit mushy but nothing more than I've found other places. Nice concrete level pads, I didn't even get my toes wet hooking up the Lots of great places to walk my dog, lots of grass and some cows to stare at across the street. Looking forward to this evening and some quiet time. NICE dog park, great cable, adequate wi-fi. Really... everything I personally needed, and near to downtown Waco without being in the middle of the crazy. Owner was very sweet and accommodating. Price was $28 booked through the office if you book online you'll pay $30, so call in.
We made reservations for a 2 night stay, making a note that we would be an after hours arrival. We received a confirmation email. Once we located the park, there wasn’t anything left at the office for us, no indication of which spot we should park in. Several empty spaces so we just chose one...after driving thru the “back area” which was not big rig friendly.
Rural location several miles from town (Waco.). Not convenient to shopping, restaurants, etc. Having said that, this is a nice, quiet park with what appears to be a mix of permanent and overnight residents. Bathroom was average but quite cool during cold weather. If you use bathroom facilities, ask for a space near the restroom. Good park for dogs with plenty of space for walks. Heard coyotes at night so dogs should stay inside. Staff was friendly & helpful. Did not use the laundry facility. If you stay, pet the 2 stray dogs that visit the park - very sweet. Other guests were very friendly. This park felt very safe.
A pretty basic park. Many long term residents. We were parked beside a large oak tree that seemed determined to drop all of its acorns while we were there! At times it sounded like a hail storm on top of our trailer. We didn't mind the park as we were in the area to visit family but it is definitely not a destination type park.
