This was a great location, easy access to all of the things to do in Fredericksburg. Nice large trees, gravel sites with concrete, they were a little close, but nice and quiet. Great large dog area, two play yards so no waiting with the number of dogs at this park. There is a pasture of goats on the west side of the park where we had our site, this was great no noise, had windows open all night. Front desk ladies had a great sense of humor, trash was picked up as soon as we put it out, did not even see the staff come by. This is an older park, but would not have traded it for anything. Oh the biggest find was Hilda's across the street, great Mexican food, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hilda's is within walking distance if you choose. Would stay again.
Had a wonderful 3 day getaway here! The people are super nice without being intrusive, one even went out of her way to find laundry detergent for me when I had to wash all my towels, dish cloths, and hand towels to mop up when the water line busted! The bathrooms and showers are super clean, as is the laundry room. In the laundry room, which is very spacious, is a table with an ongoing puzzle, a corner nook with books and other puzzles. They also have a Wednesday Crochet Group from January through April! Huge bonus for me! Definitely coming back here! Just minutes from historic downtown Fredericksburg.
Oakwood is a clean park, if your passing through for a night it would be fine. However, if you looking for a place to relax and enjoy your RV this is not the place. The spaces are very very close together, we even had a Premium site which was very small. In addition the Premium sites are up front and close to the road so if your sitting out you can enjoy the sites and sounds of the highway, The space was so narrow I was fighting with a bush when trying to dump my tanks. Could only access my storage by going onto the neighbors site. Their are no problems with the staff and cleanliness of the park just too many sites too close together.
