the park's setting and site layout, function and identification of signage, overall exterior building maintenance, noise, trash disposal, litter and debris around the grounds and sites, and appearance of grounds, sites and entrance area.
On the road from Yellowstone to Florida (headed home). Ready to stop for the night. Good Sam GPS listed this as a well rated park on the route. Called to check availability, told there was a two night minimum. However, they would waive the two nights for one, but then would not offer the “Good Sam” discount. Guess they would rather leave the site empty for the night. Good Sam reviews/recommendations should state discount is only with two or more nights. Beautiful park, nice staff. Hooking up, found an active wasp nest under the electric cover panel.
Delivery pizza from their kitchen was good.
Refused to honor goodsam discount on weekend, didnt want to honor any nights. Argued the discount out of them for the weekdays we were there, now I see they are trying to reverse the refund discount from my bank. Way overcrowded, narrow spaces facing their lakes (not swimming lakes!) barely got our single dining slide out. They knew my trailer length and put us on a short spot could not get the vehicle to fit too, partially in grass so could not use fire ring. Cant open awning. Not even room to set a lawn chair! Little to no overflow parking. Only 3 shower stalls in main bath house. Clean. 1 staff member older lady at registration clearly doesnt like her job. Wifi was good. Easy access but the back roads in are horrible major disrepair, not the campground fault.
Nice area, friendly staff and they are in the midst of fixing many issues. Also, why are they listed as a Good Sam Park. They refused to accept our Good Sam Membership. The hostess said they do not accept the credentials on weekends. We were assigned a site number, however the guide informed the office that it was already occupied. The office assigned a second site and that also was occupied. With the third try, the guide agree that they had selected a site that was actually open.
The sites are very narrow. The one that we were on, a pull thru with concrete pad, was not even close to being level. Had to raise the front of the MH over 2". Thank goodness it was relatively warm and we were able to use the A/C. If we had the windows open I doubt that we would have slept much. Right in what appeared to be the approach path to KC Airport. A plan every five minutes or so, moving slow and descending. Although it is an acceptable park I think it is overpriced. Very frustrating that they did not accept the Good Sam Club membership. We will be back in the area and will find another park. We were in town for a high school graduation.
The park does have some older, looks like full timer RVs in the park, but were still well kept area around them. Bathroom are individual - shower, toilet, sinks - rooms. Very clean. Our site was a large, level, paved site. 40ft fifth-wheel 50amp. I did not look in the store, but understand from others in our group that it was nice, and had what they needed. The check in was easy, staff was friendly. Escort to site. I did meet another young lady staff while walking my dog, and she visited with me a little and was very friendly. Had one unpleasant encounter with a man employee that was driving company truck and dumping trash.
WiFi was great. If we visit this area again, we would stay in this park.
The people are very friendly. The park is very clean and easy to get into and out of. We will be staying there again. WiFi signal is fair, but seems to be better than most parks that we have stayed in. At busy times we have our own Verizon Jet Pack which is the only way we could get WiFi in some parks.
This place has all kinds of potential, but we were sadly disappointed.
We arrived just before 7PM, were quickly checked in and escorted to our site. The site was level but narrow - there was not much space between us and our neighbors. After setting up on the very hot June evening, we thought it a great idea to go to the pool for a swim. We looked to see how late the pool is open and found that the pool CLOSES AT 7PM! What? In the summer when it is light until, or after 9 PM and it is really hot, and the pool closes at 7:00? Not good.
We did make it to the pool midday Saturday and it was very crowded. It is a decent sized pool, but if the resort is full and with the limited hours, the pool is not big enough to accommodate the crowds.
Free wifi is advertised, but, IF you can get connected you cannot get on the internet. Wifi is necessary as there is very spotty cellular signal available.
Fishing requires a permit from the office and it is $5 per pole per day. The fee is called a "restocking fee". I think they are due to be restocked as I did not see many people catching anything.
The staff, and there were a lot of them, was mostly friendly. There were a couple of the ladies in the office/store that were a little stoic, but most were friendly.
We ordered pizza from the pizza parlor in the store and asked for it to be delivered. We were told it would be 30 minutes. An hour later we had still not received our pizza so my son decided to ride his bike down and check on it. He was told that I needed to come down to take care of a credit card issue. It turns out that I simply needed to sign the slip. I asked why I couldn't have signed that when it was delivered and was told that it was for pickup. So, my pizza sat down there in a box on top of the oven for nearly a half hour because of this error. The person that took my order apologized as she remembered speaking with me, but that is all I got. The pizza was fine, but a little dried out. Mistakes happen, but a phone call could have been made to me (they had my number on the order and were able to charge to my site).
The final thing I will say is, while this is not the fault of anyone, just a fact of being in this location, this resort is just north of the Kansas City Airport and planes would fly low over the resort every few minutes breaking up the peace and quiet we desired. I had to chuckle to myself that we were that close to an airport and could only get spotty cell signal and that the wifi was non-existent.
We made the most of it (Sunday morning was beautiful with a cool breeze), but we will not likely try this place again.
Huge facility with a lot of amenities. Beautiful campground. Love the dog parks and the ponds. The place needs some touch ups. Sites are tight in some areas. There are some paved pull through sites. Staff seemed friendly and helpful.
We went here based on the ratings but we should have read the reviews! The campground is sprawling! If you're not in the areas close to the pool and store you have a long walk!
The dog park was nice. It was divided into two areas.
We had a "deluxe" site and there really was nothing different from a regular site except for the extra cost and it was paved. Don't bother paying the extra!
The Wifi was terrible! We had to go to sit outside by the showers to even get on! They definitely need to upgrade their hot spots- this is the 21st century!
The pool is OK but it was very far from our campsite.
We probably will not return here because we don't think it was worth the cost.
OK stay Cable is out for the next 2 months, bigger units will have trouble fitting in your rig and parking without hanging over into the road. Store closes at 5 so does the pizza place located inside.
overpriced for amenities now available
what grass there is on the lots is uncut
