Overall Rating Facility Rating Restroom Rating Appeal Rating The view is beautiful! The sites are very small and cramped. We have a small travel trailer, 19', it felt so crowded. Hard to really enjoy and appreciate. Also, sitting around the campfire you have mice/rats running all around your feet. I know camping is all about critters and wild life but you would think they could do something about the rodent infestation. If you don't mind the small spaces and rodent problem, this could be the campsite for you.

A very small county park, but with restrooms (not outhouses), showers and a burger bar that's really great. Most of the "standard" hookup sites are a bit cramped except for 4 or 5 on the high side which cost more, but there are several dry camping sites at the north west end we love. Campground sits maybe 20' above the beach, with a stairway down. Most of the beach is under water about have the time so you plan your walks during the lower tide cycles. On the lowest tides there is a great tide pool at the bottom of the stairway. County now accepts reservations online and the site descriptions are new and sometimes not so accurate, but we have been camping this are for 50 or so years so we know which sites are best. Trains do pass only about 100 years away, but since there are no cross streets, seldom do you here train whistles. Feels very secluded, but you are only about 7 miles from Ventura and all the shopping, dining and/or service centers you would normally find in a medium sized town. A few more miles to the north are Carpinteria and Santa Barbara, both well-known tourist attractions. Also the Ojai trail starts in Ventura and is accessible from this park by riding south east about 7 miles, 5 of those miles on a road that parallels the beach. This trail is mostly a bike and walking trail that extends to the town of Ojai, again a well-known tourist attraction. You do see horses along the trail from time to time. From Faria Beach, Ojai is about 22 miles and with the exception of about 1/2 mile and the 5 mile 2-lane coastal road, most of the route is separated from vehicles. It can get quite crowed so reservations are for the most part, a must.

Overall Rating Facility Rating Restroom Rating Appeal Rating I found it cramped and difficult to get a site. Locals fighting for spaces made for an unpleasant process to secure a site. Very noisy. Great food at snack shack.
