This is a no-credit card and no-reservation campground which may cause a problem for some. It's located just outside Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The park has a playground and good size pool. There were kids in the pool but I don't know if it is heated. Staff was nice and helpful. The bathrooms are a bit old and dark but kept very clean. As far as landscaping there isn't any but there is grass around the mostly level gravel pads. There are plenty of trees in areas of the park. There... Read More

There is a free shuttle bus that will take you all round the island. We would definitely stay here again. We paid about $58 per night for full-hook ups

I didn't think I would like the fact that they don't take reservations but if you plan your visit right it should work out for you. Don't try and check in on a Friday or Saturday, that is when everyone is checking in. Wait until Sun-Wed and that should work out better. Restrooms were dated, check in was fine but make sure you bring a check book or have cash. They DON'T take credit cards. Staff was friendly and helpful (carried some wood for us in their cart to our site). You really don't need to... Read More

As a matter of fact parking in the park is very hard to find. Some full hookups are kind of narrow with mostly no shade. Many of the water electric only sites were very shaded and secluded. Great place to camp to see Acadia and Bar Harbor.

Staff super helpful - sites are wide and beautiful with trees and grass Easy drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor and stores Missed cable somewhat but far offset by location and peacefulness Would definitely stay again

Very nice campground, well located to tour the island and go to Bar Harbor. Nice sites. We like the first-come, first-served policy. We toured the campground, picked a spot, parked the RV, and then went to the office and paid. Stayed here a week. Electric and water are good. Nice laundry. Nice pool, when its warm enough in Maine to use it. Only bad thing was the wifi. Excellent bandwidth, but it keep cutting in and out. I had to use my Verizon hot spot.

We stayed 3 weeks after planning on only one. Friendly people, Clean sites, Fair prices. The local free bus service is wonderful. Excellent Lobster dinners available brought to your site. We want to go back next year and do it again, there is so much to see and do.
