We spent two nights at this property. Such beautiful and well kept grounds. Lots of playground equipment for the kids. Fire pits and picnic tables at the sites. The owner took over in October and she states it was a mess. She's doing a great job of bringing the place back up to where it should be. Though it's close to the freeway, we noted no noise. The showers could be more updated as could the laundry room. You can tell she really is trying. Please give this one a try. Even though there is no pool,kids will enjoy the playground. I wanted to add this review to Trip Advisor, however, her property did not come up.
Park owned by very nice couple. They recently purchased the park. The park was in serious disrepair. Yet, they have been steadily improving things. For instance, they are working with Story City Administration for City sewer connection, thereby eliminating/minimizing the septic drain field, freeing up a great place for additional parking. This would allow install of sewer connection at sites not yet services. There is an inclined slope behind the office which has full connections for long term renters. The park is sufficient distance from I35 I was not offended by the noise.
While the park doesn't yet exhibit/provide the "facilities" or quality many expect, it is a great stop for overnight. "BLUE BOYS" are provided for folks needing to dump tanks without moving the RV.. Not the best solution but workable..
Within the near future I think this park will really turn around...
This Campground is now under new Management. We were reluctant to stop here after reading the negative comments. We had stayed at this campground previously and the last time (1 1/2 years ago) while passing through, we noticed how the place was looking run down compared to the other times we stayed.
We decided to stop anyway and I'm glad we did! The new manager greeted us with a friendly smile and was happy to be taking over. The improvement is noticeable. The washrooms were clean, as was the office. The wifi didn't work - she did tell us it might not - but they are currently working on something better. I would stay here again.
