Great location for visiting Dodge City. Our campsite was spacious for big rigs, pool was great, and office staff were friendly. We were told there are new owners, which I am sure they know the things to pay more attention to that have been let go over several years - good luck to you, we will return for our next west trip.

We had an enjoyable stay here. Upon arrival this looks like an older park, but the spaces were large and level and most of all quiet. Staff was pleasant and provided brochures on local things to do. We did not use any of the facilities, pool, laundry, playground, or restrooms but the pool looked great and was being used by others in the park. This is a full hook up park to include water, sewer, 50 amp electric, but no cable TV, we were able to pick up local TV with our antenna and we received plenty... Read More

we stayed twice at Gunsmoke on our way to and back from Rapid City South Dakota. The first time we there two days the return trip overnight. The only problem for our daughter was the showers were closed due to Covid. Our grandkids enjoyed the playground and the laundry room was nice. If you need cable tv there is none. Everyone we met were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this park for a stay in Dodge City.

Very nice staff, we stayed here while we toured Dodge City

The facilities were very nice. The pool was a welcome treat with all the heat. The staff we welcoming and informational and accommodated our need for room for the dogs to roam. If you are traveling with dogs with longer fur, beware. There are burs in the grass and get stuck in their fur and paws.

This is very nice very well maintained older park, it's not to far from Old Dodge City, the sites are spacious and clean, the management takes great pride, the laundry room is one of the cleanest I ever used, the pool looked very inviting. We were there for 3 days and were very pleased with all the facilities would recommend this park to anyone wanting to visit Dodge City.

Thanks for staying with us! Glad to hear you enjoyed your visit! We hope you'll come see us again sometime! Happy trails and safe travels! - Kevin and Viki

Pretty nice RV Park with nice size sites. The sites are well maintained with two sewer (front and rear) connections at each site. The roads are graveled and nicely maintained with just a few little bumps at the entrance. They have a nice laundry and inviting swimming pool. The trees are nicely trimmed on the sites. NOTE TO PET OWNERS: The grassy areas have small cockleburrs that will get in your pets fur. My dogs got them in their coats each time they went out walking or on the road and they... Read More

My dogs got them in their coats each time they went out walking or on the road and they are hard to get out. I would give the campground 5 stars for everything, except for this. The staff are friendly, but they also enforce the rules as they should for the enjoyment of all. It is a very nice campground except for the small cockleburrs.

Thanks for staying with us. Glad you enjoyed your stay other than the burrs, which we continue to battle. They are annoying and were tough to control this year because of all the rain we had in May and early June - and they are too small to rake up. Ugh! Know we continually strive to eliminate the problem. Happy trails and safe travels. - Kevin and Viki

We loved this rv park, large level sites, grass and trees between sites, lots of room not crowded at all.

Thansk so much for staying with us. We're glad you enjoyed your visit and we hope to see you again sometime! Happy trails and safe travels! - Kevin and Viki

This was a pleasant stop after pulling across South Dakota and Nebraska. Stayed 2 nights while visiting Dodge City. The park is clean and neat. The staff was super friendly, the laundry facilities where in good shape with enough machines to get the laundry done in a hurry. We didn't use the restrooms. The gated entry provided a touch of comfort. Only negative would be the sewer outlets are not threaded so getting a good seal is a little difficult, but thats minor. The pull throughs have plenty of... Read More

The pull throughs have plenty of room for the big rigs. We are about 55' from front to back and had more than enough room. No cable but good line of site for satellite and the off air antenna picks up strong. They list the antenna channels available, point your antenna to 200 degrees. Any time we head through this area we will stop here!

Can't rate restrooms because we didn't use them but they had to be perfect like the rest if the park. Beautiful, spacious sites, great hosts and an emmaculate park pretty well sums it up for us! This is a don't miss park. Wish we would have had longer to stay.

We enjoyed our one night stay. The man that checked us in was friendly and, helpful when we asked about attractions in Dodge City. We found the campground to be clean and well kept. We did not use the pool but there were other campers enjoying the pool. There was also a nice playground for children. Our site had gravel to park the camper on and grass with a picnic table. It is a good place to stay for a day or two.

We stayed overnight July 2017. Very friendly & hepful owner. We have a 44ft coach & tow a pickup. They were able to accommodate us without "unhooking" our tow. Park was very clean, no trash on sites, clean spots, pool was clean, no clutter. Cute storefronts for office & facilities. We'll stocked store. We didn't see any pets! All rules were made so everyone could enjoy their stay. We'll stay here again when traveling in this area.

I'm almost certain that whoever rated this from Good Sam has never camped before...the ratings this park has received are not a fair interpretation of this park.. . This park is in need of some TLC...and I mean more than just freshly cut grass. We called two weeks before we visited to confirm our reservation and ask specifically about the pool being open and the lady on the phone said yes it is. When we arrived June 1st the pool was not and from the looks of it had not been open for some time.... Read More

By the way two other campers that had checked in had been told the same thing.

I would NEVER EVER tell someone that the pool was open when its not, just to have them come in and find out it wasn't!!!! I DON"T need the Headache that would happen when you got here and found out it wasn't. The people from Good Sam stay here every year and tell me that I'm indeed one of the best RV Parks in KS. Usually diffident people each year even. During the winter we suffered a Crippling Ice Storm as well as many other weather related things including a Blizzard on April 30, 2017. We also... Read More

Usually diffident people each year even. During the winter we suffered a Crippling Ice Storm as well as many other weather related things including a Blizzard on April 30, 2017. We also have felt the trimmers from the OK earthquakes in which I am sure is what cracked the pool. I am waiting for the guy to show up to fix it, but the rain as well as other commitments have kept him from getting here. Not many people have even asked about me having a pool, let alone if its open or not. IT IS THE VERY FIRST YEAR IN 18 YEARS THAT IT WAS NOT OPENED ON TIME!!! The one reservation I knew for sure who asked, I called and let them know before they got here that it had not been fixed yet. She told me at check THANK YOU for calling and letting me know. Certainly I would have understood if you wanted to go somewhere else and I would have not made you pay. So sorry you feel you have to make up stuff because you are mad. I do this park all by myself with some help from hired mowers. I have 100's of people who feel I'm doing a GREAT job all by myself. So sad you feel you have to hurt a widow trying her best to do everything possible to make sure everything is clean and everything works well. To say two others told you that I said, the pool was also opened is absolutely WRONG!!! Shame on you!!! I'm the only one here and I haven't talk to a handful of people about it. Let alone two others telling you I told them the same thing on the same night. You are darn right I'm going to defend myself!!!!!! I can't believe people now a days!!!!

This was a fine park with a friendly check-in, good gravel roads, nicely spaced pads with grass areas in between and plenty of room for all size rigs. Utilities worked well including WiFi but no cable. Got a few channels on the antenna however. Bathroom/shower/laundry facilities were very nice. There is a playground and arcade room for kids. Train tracks are very close and loud but fortunately only a couple trains went by in the night. It was quiet otherwise. Don't think you can escape them... Read More

Thank you for taking time out to write a review. It is most awesome to know people really enjoy what I do to make them comfortable and to have great experience while here. Happy Trails, Ruth

Nice facility, spacious and shady sites, friendly staff. Easy access, gated and safe community. Strick dog policy which we liked very much. Dodge City not as much to do as expected.

Thank you for your review. I appreciate knowing that all people are not against having pet rules. In fact a lot of people actually do tell me that's why they came here. I only want the best for everyone that stays in my park. Owners of dogs have become a huge problem in the last few years. Hopefully I will only get responsible pet owners someday. Happy Trails, Ruth

We stayed at Gunsmoke Campground a few weeks ago .. with 2 little yorkies, but no children.. The campground was nice, quiet, and the sites were larger than we had experienced while out west and thank goodness for pull thrus.. We didn't use the restrooms at the campground, so I can't speak about them.. We didn't have any problems.. the lady in the office was very friendly and informative.. We would stay again if we were in Dodge City..

Thank you so much for this review. It is so awesome to have people who can appreciate everything I do to make their stay a pleasant one. Thank you again and hope to see you back real soon. Ruth
