This is a beautiful campground. There are many shaded spots and some that are not but all are very nice. The bath facilities are very nice. The location of the park id great.

The sites at this facility are heavily wooded, which is a consideration if someone is hoping for a more open feel. However, if you're looking for a campsite that feels like a wooded, rural campground, this is heaven. Many sites are lakefront or lake-adjacent, and most of them are flat. Gravel rather than cement pads. Strong wifi. Seems to attract friendly renters, and many sites are owned and beautifully-maintained.

Lots of shade in this park. Weekends are very busy as you would expect but things quieted down after about 10:30. Lots of campfires so the place filled up with wood smoke. Staff was nice but businesslike. Restrooms and showers are not close to many campsites. Wifi is present but with so many users it just doesn't work. Sites are mostly dirt and interior roads are dirt/gravel.

Nice well maintained paved roads and stone pads. Very large sites. Lots of playgrounds for the kids. Definitely spring for wooded or lake sites for the shade.

There are few private RV parks in Traverse City. Most of the parks are state parks with electric only and which are not financially favorable to out of state travelers - think lots of fees. So we chose Holiday as a base camp for exploring. In hindsight, we would most likely stay somewhere on or near the Leelanau Peninsula as we spent a lot of time there and on the Old Mission Peninsula. So we chose Holiday as a base camp for exploring. In hindsight, we would most likely stay somewhere on or near the Leelanau Peninsula as we spent a lot of time there and on the Old Mission Peninsula. Unless you take back roads from Holiday, which is okay but slower, you have to go through downtown which can be quite congested. Mixed feelings about this park. As other have mentioned there are different sections. Some by the lake (very few and it's a tight loop with tight sites), some wooded and some (I guess the newer ones) that are pretty much out in the open but close together. There is nice greenery around but all the sites had weeds growing in the gravel. We stayed in a wooded site which was gravel, long and level. Much roomier here than any of the other sections. It was a nice space where we could easily put out our wide awnings and have plenty of room for chairs and tables. The trees provided decent coverage from the heat of the sun, and oddly, we were still able to get satellite coverage. The strange part was the placement of the fire pit. It was in the back near various objects like a tire and some other stuff that was covered with a tarp. The downsides are WII FI and noise. The WII FI was pretty useless even with our WII FI extender. It was either up or down and 90% of the time down. The noise from Highway 31 is constant and loud during the day which makes sitting outside loud. What a shame because the weather was really nice and there were very few bugs. We could also hear the thumping of music at different times of the day. We think it was coming from boats on the lake but we never quite figured it out. Our price reflects a weekly rate which is overpriced for what you get. We most likely would not stay here again.

We had a great spot between two seasonal campers. Easy to get in and out of the site. Very private as we were on one of the smaller loops. Friendly and helpful staff. Out of the congestion of Traverse City, but close enough to Sleeping Bear Dunes and the Traverse peninsula scenic drive. Will definitely stay there again.

Our second trip up there and certainly won't be the last. Great area and wonderful campground. Facilities are outstanding and the staff very accommodating.

This park is mostly owner occupied, but if you can get a site that is being "subleased" by the lake it is a marvelous place to stay and just enjoy being in this lovely place.

Close to shopping and other amenities. Paved roads / gravel pads. Large number of Pull-Through locations. Well laid out and attractive. Well maintained, trash picked up daily. Will stay here again when in the area.
