Appeal Rating This is a nice, quiet park, although we were there mid-week, and I expect that it is much busier on the weekends when seasonal campers arrive. There are many campsites where campers are permanently installed, with wood decks, patios, etc. Overall the park was pretty well maintained, although everything is pretty dated from the check in location/store and bathrooms. The bathrooms were in decent shape, but showing their age for sure. They clean them once a day, and they are cleaned well, but it doesn't take much to get them dirty, so twice a day cleaning or some touch up cleaning is warranted.
Our biggest disappointment was the lake. It was covered in green algae and moss. When you look at the pictures on their website, they don't have many pictures of the lake, and the one where they show the dock, covers most of the green moss on top of the lake near the shore, but it is mostly covered up blocks of graphics/wording on the website, so you don't notice it. The other picture is a close up of water that probably was taken elsewhere or somewhere in the middle of the lake to give the impression that the lake is clear and usable. We had planned to do some kayaking, but decided against that as we didn't want to go in the lake. There is certainly no lake swimming in our view. It was dark, murky and covered on the top with the algae. When I asked the staff if it was normal for the lake to be so green on top, they said yes.
The roads in the park are gravel for the most part, and the sites are on gravel/grass/dirt. So you need to plan for that as you bring in a lot of dirt when going in and out of the RV.
The staff was very nice, and they have a store that is stocked with all the essentials. They also serve take out food and ice cream which is also convenient.
Overall we would go back if in the area for a short stay, but not to plan any lake activities - other than fishing perhaps.
