Loved camping here last year. Close to home to be able to do multiple trips. We especially enjoyed being able to leave our trailer on the site for the week and return the following weekend and everything be set up and ready to go. You can no longer do that. We also enjoyed the breakfast on Saturday mornings. It was a great way to start the day and meet other campers. They no longer do that either. The store closed to early for a weekend and they no longer have the yummy variety of soft serve ice... Read More

Hopefully they will bring some of these things back.

This campground is in a rural area at the end of a dead end road, so it is quiet. it is also very close to High Point Park and, if you're traveling with a furry friend, it is close to the awesome Wantage Dog Park. We stayed for a four day weekend. At check in we were changed from our initial site which we were told was too muddy to another site. it was a pull through so easy to get in and out of which we appreciated. However we saw the site we had reserved and didn't see any mud, so we're not sure... Read More

We stayed for a four day weekend. At check in we were changed from our initial site which we were told was too muddy to another site. it was a pull through so easy to get in and out of which we appreciated. However we saw the site we had reserved and didn't see any mud, so we're not sure why we were moved from the site we had initially reserved. You need tokens to go in and out of the campground - we had a problem in that we weren't told this, and were not given any tokens and day one we went out for supplies and came back after 5:00 when the office was closed. Luckily a friendly fellow camper helped us, but otherwise we would have been locked out. Toilets were clean, but in my book part of the restroom is the shower, and this campground didn't have any. Our 6 gallon water heater works for dishes or emergencies, but doesn't let you take a real hot shower - so we survived the four days with sponge baths and quick rinses. Unfortunately many of the amenities were "out of order" during our visit, including laundry, showers, pool and hot tub. We were not told about this before our visit, or even when we checked in and only found out the campground didn't really have these amenities when we went to take a shower or do laundry. Luckily we didn't have children with us to be disappointed by the lack of a pool. However, being able to take a good hot shower or do laundry are really basic services and had I realized Pleasant Acres didn't have them I would have gone elsewhere. Although emergencies do happen, the pool, hot tub, all showers and laundromat can't all have broken at once, and repairs should be made immediately. At Pleasant Acres these services were never restored during our four day stay. We also were not offered any sort of discount or accommodation in compensation for the lack of services. When we asked the teen-ager working at the front desk where there was another laundromat in the area she couldn't tell us. The dog park was small, but nice to have. There were animals (goats, chickens, ponys) in pens that you could look at, but you couldn't interact with them. No cable. They have internet, but the signal was weak/slow and you'll wait minutes for a page to load. Don't plan on watching netflix. Generally an ok campground, but much too expensive for what it is, especially given that the only actual amenities were water and electric. I couldn't take a shower, use the pool or hot tub, or do laundry during my visit.

Helpful and caring staff when making late reservation. This campground is a family owned/operated and wonderfully kept campground set in woods above a farm. Full hookup access makes for simple camping. Friendly regulars who stopped and offered assistance if needed. Lots of planned activities and some nearby tourist sites to be seen. This morning my pups enjoyed exploring the property, finding animals in a petting zoo area for the kids, the pups introduced and sniffed at the friendly ponies... Read More

The dog park is large enough and with activities to give them some exercise. The playground is delightful for those with children, and the pool would be great in summer. It has so much to offer, and a store for provisions if needed. Not a RESORT, but a real and wonderful campground with lots of room between sites, many seasonal but still lots of space for visiting RVers.
