We stayed twice in one week. One of the nights was in their emergency overnight site, as we just could not get a spot anywhere, as everywhere is so busy, so we were very thankful to get it. However, this spot had a lovely view of the canal and boats going in and out. This campground is definitely geared up for families and kids. It brings back memories of summer camp. There is a lot for kids to do though, and it's a great place to bring em. The beach at the lake is very nice and there are playgrounds and inflatable toys and designated swimming areas. The staff and owners are super friendly and helpful, and the bar is great to catch a beer or a glass of wine at the end of the day, and you can learn the history of the park from the back of the menu, which is cool. The food is good too in the restaurant. They also have a great gift shop with a huge selection of clothing. So if you are looking for a quiet peaceful stay, maybe this is not the place for you, but having said that, we enjoyed sitting round the camp fire listening to the sounds of kids and families having fun. Would definitely return, and very much recommend.

Booked a four night stay and leaving after two nights. They put us almost on top of the sewer pumping station and the smell was terrible. We could not spend any time outside the RV. This will be the last time that we stay here.

Ladies bathroom always flooded so you were standing in the water when you want to go use the bathroom. They have a charge for the pool which was not stated on the good Sam club website. We pulled and doors saying and they had been to the site next to us two trailers so we had to share sewer. WiFi in campground Hasn't worked all summer

This place is good if you have several children and don't mind noise / congestion. Campers are way too close to each other, EVERYONE has a golf cart/bike/roller blades and the parade is endless, so if you want privacy this isn't it. We were told to leash our pets and clean up after them but found 4 or 5 pets not leashed, and actually watched our neighbor bring his dogs to our campsite to do their business - and of course left it. Employees were friendly, but did not have answers to 95% of... Read More

Nice spot - spent 2 nights there - much more conducive to seasonal camping as opposed to our overnighting. Good facilities for kids. Friendly staff.

We stayed in spot 43, along the canal for 1 night. Restrooms/shower: Individual bathrooms, they were clean and I loved the privacy. Activities: We only stayed overnight so didn't utilize any activities. But there seems to be plenty to do; beach, boat rentals. Restaurant: Was fine, store was nice too. Grounds: Roads were fine, our spot was level, we didn't have any neighbors so can't comment on the proximity/nearness. Didn't notice they were close together. There are cabins, seasonal, and... I stayed at Stony Point because of the Good Sam ratings which are exceptional. However, during our initial check in and subsequent six day stay we were quite disappointed and firmly believe that Good Sam needs to take another look at their ratings for the park. Most of the resort is set up for seasonal people with mostly park models and seasonal RV sites. The overall park is spaced very close together and over the years the seasonal park model and RV site owners have accumulated quite a lot of stuff which is in some cases just packed all over their sites. The absolute worst part of the entire experience at Stony Point was the temporary or daily/weekly/monthly sites. It seems this part of the resort was a complete afterthought and very poorly designed. The sites leave much to be desired in the way of being level. Huge pines which are quite beautiful leave many problems with extending slides and awnings. The sewer and electrical hookups are in odd positions in relation as to where the RV should or would be parked. Every site is situated so the adjacent site will park with their door facing your door. And they are so close together you are literally living in each other's sites. This may be great if you know your neighbors and enjoy the company. But, completely out of the realm of most people's comfort zone and personal bubble. I found the restrooms to be inadequate with only one full toilet and two showers and urinals. They were usually not clean and were wet or flooded during our stay. The resort is on a busy highway, think noise. The good things are they launch your boat and with enough advance notice may have a sheltered slip for your boat. There is a restaurant and bar on site and the one meal we had was good. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They have bait available for fishing and the lake is very nice. The beach at the resort is also very nice. I would really love to give it better ratings but, I just cannot mostly due to the RV park design. I really feel Good Sam did a disservice to its members by the ratings given this park.
