Nickerson Park is a wonderful campground to enjoy the art of relaxation, quiet time and family bonding. We took our 6 year old granddaughter with us on our early April adventure. It was off season so only a few campers were at the park, which is just fine with us. We shy away from "planned activities" and make our own fun. Weather is iffy in April in CT so the snow flurries and downpours of cold rain were no surprise. Keep your eye to the river, she can get feisty after heavy rains and winter snow... Read More

We put on the outer gear and out for walks along the beautiful Natchaug River for intense games of "I Spy with my little eyes" all things nature that surrounds the campground. Cable is available, we just never hooked up so cannot comment it, and frankly enjoyed being "unhooked" from all things electronic. The owner is wonderful and a very, very helpful. ? So pack your novels, checkers, board games and coloring books and spend quality time with your family. We will definitely go back.

Not a bad campground!! If you want to relax and just have quiet time then this is the place for you. We said if we had come with a couple of other families it would have been great! Sitting by the river was very tranquil and relaxing. There were absolutely no activities which made it boring for us. Now we are by no means party animals but some socializing would have been nice. The few people we spoke with were all very nice and friendly. The restrooms were immaculate!! Our only real complaints are... Read More

Perfect for us for an "off season" adventure, one of the few in CT open in winter. There are many permanent RV's parked there, most unoccupied at the time, but quite a few sites were available right beside the river, with on site fireplaces. Great hiking, biking in state forest surrounding park. Management friendly and helpful.
