RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!!! After numerous attempts to contact this park via both phone and email, I finally got someone to answer the phone. I told her I was interested in making a reservation for the beginning of November. She immediately told me "they were full" and they are "always full in the middle of November" without even checking my dates. First of all, I didn't want the "middle of November", I wanted the beginning of November. Secondly, we stayed there in 2016 the same week we wanted for this year and they weren't even close to being full. Then to top it off, I was in mid sentence asking her if she could possibly check and get back to me and she HUNG UP ON ME!! Ridiculous. Way to alienate someone that previously had nothing but nice things to say about your park...
My husband & I were in Daytona for the Coke Zero 400 & decided to go to Inglis, FL to kayak the Rainbow River. We attempted several times to phone the office for site availability. We drove on to Gulf Coast RV Resort, formerly River Lodge RV Resort, & arrived at the park office only to learn it was presently closed & had been closed for 2 days. A sign on the door read, "If the office is closed, park in an empty site." We located an empty pull-thru site & began setting up our campsite. We then made reservations for a kayak tour for the following morning @ 11:30. Before leaving for the tour, we stopped by the office to pay for a 2 night stay, at which time we were told we would have to move as the site we had selected had been reserved. We explained we had kayak reservations but were again told we would have to move. Rule #24 of the Park Rules pamphlet clearly states, "Site locations are not guaranteed..." We were forced to cancel our kayak tour because of time restraints. The office staff was neither helpful nor considerate. Her only response was, "You'll have to move." After cancelling our kayak tour, we packed up and began driving home. We typically stay @ this park 2-3 times a year bringing friends with RVs with us. We won't be staying at Gulf Coast RV Resort in the future. I do not recommend this park.
What a great find for us! This is a very nice park with spacious lots and wonderful people!! We liked it so much that we actually extended our stay from 7 days by 5 days. Everything was clean and well kept. There a lots of things to do from restaurants and other things to do. Cedar Key is only 35 minutes away, cedar Gardens is worth a visit and the Rainbow River is beaiutiful! Besides all of this the RV park has very reasonable rates to offer. We met a lot of other campers and a community was quickly built. We'll be there again,
