About 2.5 miles off the main route only 4 miles from the lovely town of Mancos is where the Echo Basin Resort is located. It is also less than a dozen miles from the Mesa Verde entrance. As you drive back to the park, you might think you are lost but that is a good thing. If you like no road noise, hearing the wind through the Ponderosa pines, birds chirping and spectacular views all around, then this place is for you. Check in was a breeze and all staff we met were professional and personable.... Read More

Check in was a breeze and all staff we met were professional and personable. The sites are nicely spaced amongst the pine trees and we were fortunate to open our door to a pond. The pad was generally level and all surfaces were dirt/gravel but had a bonus of a 10x10 artificial grass mat. If you have pets, there are some green areas and some nice places to walk them. Laundry/bath facilities and amenities are adequate (early in the season for everything to be up and running). For cellular service, T-Mobile and Verizon was between 1-2 bars but we were on the back of the campground by a large field that had horses and deer. What was surprising was how good the WiFi was, even on the weekend with higher occupancy. Never had any issues with it. All in all, would stay here again if in the area.

My wife and I stayed at the park for several days in early April. It should be noted that they begin charging full summer rates on April 1. Despite this we were told that the restaurant/ bar and pool would not be open till May. We were okay with that. On arrival we were placed in a site that had just been vacated by a long term RV. The site was wet enough (presumably from the winter thaw) that our RV sank into the mud several inches causing it to be quite unlevel. It was late enough in the... Read More

It was late enough in the day that we weren't able to address this issue till the following day. At that point we asked to move to a different site and were told there were none available even though we noted several empty sites in the park. Instead we had to hook up our trailer and pull it out of the site while more gravel was brought in and the site was leveled. Even after that was done when we backed the trailer back into the site it still sank into the soft soil an inch or so. We just decided at that point to accept that we would would be a bit unlevel. Over the course of the next few days it became obvious that all of the gorgeous, lush green images that are shown on their web site are simply artificial grassed areas toward the front of the park. Farther back in the park where the RV sites are located all of the roads are very dusty dirt roads and the sites are rather thinly graveled. After being there for several days we decided we needed to do some laundry only to find that the laundry room and showers would not be open till May! This fact was never mentioned during booking of the reservation and was certainly not on the web site. When I complained to management about this his response was "I'll change that on the web site right now". .... And he did! I then asked why "summer" rates were being charged when absolutely none of the "summer amenities" were available to campers and the reply was simply a shrug of the shoulders and the comment "we go to summer rates on April 1". .... A lot of good that does me at this point! So no, I absolutely can not recommend this RV park! Our stay there was very disappointing
