I called the park in March before making the online reservation for our stay. I was very clear about our travel trailer size and slides with 50 amp requirements. When we arrived we were directed to a small very unlevel space. (hillside). Our trailer barely fit, forget parking our tow vehicle. When I went back to the office to question the space I was told that they don't put trailers our size in that side of the park but the other side was full, so we couldn't move either. In May, In Texas with 90 + degree weather the lovely pool so promenitely featured on their website was completely drained and as far as I could see no date in sight for it to be functional. The water to the park shut down the first day we were there but did get it back the next day... We were informed if we left early we would loose the entire cost of our planned 9 day stay. One restroom was really nice, the other stunk to high heaven. The laundry was great but when I needed to get change to do a load I discovered that the office (supposed to be open at 9 am) was locked. I was at the door at 9:25. There were a group of people in the office but when I knocked they just looked at me. I guess customer service and opening the office on time is optional. It is a pretty park with a nice playground but do not recommend. We did speak with other campers there and they indicated that they had issues similar in the past. We also noticed that there were several class A and large Travel Trailers and 5th wheels being assigned slots in that area of the park. So much for not normally putting large rigs in that area either.

Oakdale is an old RV park but it is quite clean and pretty well maintained. The pool has been in place for more than 50 years and it looks pretty good. Most of the pool is less than 4 feet deep making it ideal for nearly all comers regardless of swimming abilities. They have a small store for essentials, a laundry mat, a really nice childrens playground (very modern) that the kids seem to love. There is a small bar/grill on the pool deck that serves burgers, quesadillas, salads & a modest variety of mixed drinks, wine & beer. The chicken quesadillas were great. All the staff we dealt with were very nice and helpful. The park is absolutely pet friendly. There were dozens of dogs around during our visit. None were a nuisance. We experienced one "break away" - a sheepdog that ran over to meet us. He was young & friendly and his owner was running to catch him (very apologetic to us). He didn't even try to jump up on either of us which was a nice surprise, We're dog lovers so the visit was quite pleasant & welcome. I noticed several self-serve stations dispensing bags to clean up dog droppings. Most of the park consists of pull-through sites. Our site was long enough for our 31ft motor home with a 14ft long trailer attached without disconnecting (but just barely). The site has a mild slope to it so levelling can be slightly challenging for those without auto-levelling. Some of the interior roads are a bit narrow and have turns that could be tight for longer rigs. We didn't have any problems in our 31ft class C but a 40 - 45 footer might find some turns problematic (hence my TIP below). Spaces are quite narrow so if someone is "next-door" you'll be able to hear them without trying. Fortunately, we were there on an "off weekend" that had no local/regional events so the park was only about 1/2 full allowing some space between RV's. The park has FHU with 50/30 amp service throughout. We haven't had any issues with electricity. Water pressure has been pretty stable at about 40psi. Oakdale also has WiFi (N @ 144mbps) that was stable throughout our stay. I imagine it slows down when the park is full. We did have a little buffering during a storm - but that's just part of the RV experience, particularly in an older park. Frankly, I'm impressed that it's as good as it is. All things considered, we wouldn't hesitate to return to Oakdale. It's a very nice park right next to the river with plenty of other attractions nearby and things to do. TIPS If you have a TOAD consider disconnecting and go scout out your site BEFORE you settle in. The sites are narrow and not all perfectly level so ease of access could be problematic for longer rigs (especially if towing TOAD or trailer). We're in a class C with a small trailer so we didn't have any problems but someone with a longer rig could face some real challenges if trying to pulling in between two occupied sites & some of the roads were put in before longer rigs existed so navigating some of the roads could be a challenge for longer rigs. The camper ahead of us drove around and came back asking for a different space because he didn't want to try to get his 40+ foot 5'er into the space he was originally assigned. His request was accommodated without any pushback. We just walked over to check ours out. That only took 2 minutes.

We stayed for 10 days. The park is over priced, no TV, no WIFI, and you pay to use the pool per person. The showers are unkept as well as the laundry facility. The bottom of the pool has sharp tiles that caused the grand daughter to cut her feet. We will not be coming back.
