This was our second time staying here. We forgot what we had learned during our first stay. There are trains blowing their whistles all day and most of the night - every time they past through Nelson, WI. The tracks are less than 1/4 mile away. Additionally, although the bathrooms are very clean, the showers are essentially nonexistent. The showers are push button controlled & the shower water temp can not be regulated. The temperature set by the premises owner must be close to 200 degF. It's enough... Read More

Water quality will leave the soap residue on you. The park was completely full during our weekend stay. I could not believe it. Most of the rigs obviously used their own shower facilities. But the train noise ... can't understand it. We will not forget this place after our second stay here. Never to return.

Very nice new RV Park. Level site with all utilities and surrounded with grass. For those who know the area, the RR tracks in town would not be a surprise. The trains going through all night did not bother us but if you are a light sleeper there are a few crossings that require their horn. We would stay there again when in the area.

A new bath house has been added with private bathrooms that include toilet, shower, and sink. Also Laundry in the same building 2 dollar wash and 2 dollar dry, brand new units. Not only is it less than a mile to the Mississippi River, it is next to three of the best restaurants in the area, J&J BBQ, Cheese Factory, and Beth's Twin Cafe. The views of the cliffs and the sunsets are incredible. Over 5,000 trees and bushes have been planted, this is a 5 star facility in my opinion.

Newly constructed in 2012, the facility buildings are excellent. This is primarily an open field camp site facility, so very little shade trees have matured. The Nelson Cheese and creamery store is the camp store and check in, which offers an excellent source of cheese and wine, sandwiches, and pizza. The store is about a block away from the camp site, but within walking distance, as well as the downtown bars / restaurants. The Missisippi River parallels the local highway, as well as the train...
