Hmmm, this is a hard one for me to rate. I wish I could give it a higher rating because aesthetically, it is a nice campground with lots of trees. This is a city owned campground not private. It is in town so it's close to stores, places to eat and cheap gas (there's a Sam's Club across the highway if you're a member). There are dry sites and partial hookup sites (water/electric only). There is a sani-dump. The staff is very nice and helpful. The sites are not too close together so there is room/privacy.... Read More

Here are the bad things and they are pretty bad, the staff knows this and told me the city is trying to find a way to fix it (funds?). There are two bathroom/shower buildings and both are bad. The stalls have no latches. The showers are free but have virtually no privacy. The walls between the showers are low and the shower curtains don't close all the way. The showers have no individual valves, there is a universal valve system that is on the wall away from the showers, so you press the button for the one you want to use and then go to your shower stall. If the water is too hot, you can punch the button for another shower stall, of course you have come out of the shower stall to do that. Also, the dry sites tend to have shady characters. I personally never left anything outside the truck or trailer that I did not want to lose. There are signs outside the restroom buildings warning people about going into the wrong restroom (men vs women and about not showering together), very strange. The wifi works ok at the office but not at the sites. Still given all that, if I had to stay in Anchorage again, I would stay here.
