Really nice big sites. Quiet, friendly neighbors. Close to many of the attractions KC has to offer. Will definitely stay here again when in the area.

We stayed at this campground for 3 weeks while my husband was working a job in the K.C. area. We were so grateful to be able to stay here....the location was great, lots of great shopping close by, easy access to the highways and we felt really safe. The staff was incredible and very accommodating. The bathroom and laundry facilities were very clean. I never saw any trash laying around. It was very shaded with lots of trees. It was a little tight getting the 5th wheel in but the lots themselves are very spacious...we parked 2 vehicles next to our camper. I would highly recommend this park if you are wanting to stay in/close to the city.

Made reservations over the phone about a month prior to our stay. Walnut Grove wasn't our first choice but our first choice was booked. Johnson Road, leading to the park off I-35 is currently under construction. Turning in to the campground was a little tight but manageable with a 30 foot trailer. Office/store is clean and organized and is stocked with basic essentials and snacks. Asked for a satellite friendly site and was told we should be fine putting our antenna out in front of our trailer. Interior roads are paved but could use some rehab. Our site was wide enough for both our trailer and tow vehicle, side-by-side. You don't find that often so that was nice. Utilities were well positioned and our site was mostly level and gravel/dirt. Water pressure was high so be sure to use a reducer/regulator. We were given a site 111 which is about half way down the west lane. Noticed that most of the units further down the lane were "Permanent" campers. Most units could have used some TLC. Set our month old auto-find tailgater out and went through the process to lock in the satellites. Could get a lock. After a couple hours trying and talking with Dish, we gave up. At least 5 others around looked to have satellite service. Called the office and was told that they hadn't had any complaints about the issue previously. That was about the time the permanent campers started coming in from work. One came home, turned on their radio and left their door open. By this point we had decided to cancel the rest of our stay. Went to the office and they kindly canceled the rest of our stay and gave us a refund for our unused nights. We did notice some traffic noise and sirens throughout the night as well. In short, the staff was super nice and professional but the campground itself was not what we expected.

Traveling in a 38 foot coach we stayed 3 nights in a site for big rigs. If you plan to visit Kansas City there really is not any place closer than Walnut Grove RV Park. If you look at the convenience of staying close to the city then you can overlook the sites that are close together, and the fact that everything is gravel. The office gal was supper nice and friendly. Price is a little high but being that close to Kansas City you need to except.

Good Sams rating for this RV park are seriously incorrect. I would rate as a zero if possible on their star system. Dirty. Rundown . Cramped . I took one look at the park’s overall condition and immediately left.

Solitude Traveler, I think we were unfairly judged by a quick glance. You know, looks can be deceiving, and not all RV Parks should be judged by their cover. If you ever find yourself in our neck of the woods, give us a call, we would love to change your perspective.

This is an older park with older facilities. Spaces and turns are very tight. At least half of the sites are permanent and many are very run-down. Dog park is not fenced. Located less than a mile off of I-35 and is very close to shopping and grocery. Owner/manager is kind and helpful...

This is a convenient, clean, friendly RV park. Not many spaces available so I recommend you reserve in advance. The owners are terrific, so kind and helpful. Not many amenities but one that's very important to us: It is VERY QUIET EVERY NIGHT. We have been at this park on three trips and will definitely stay here again in the future.

We almost didn't come by because of the other reviews but we are glad we did! The people are gracious and welcoming, there is a little fenced in dog lot for our dog to play in, and while there is not a lot of room, it is clean and nice. Others must feel the same! We were lucky they had one site open when we arrived. Nice that they have a storm shelter, being Kansas in the spring.

Spaces on top of each other; gravel and not level. Restrooms are in need of a complete remodeling. Best thing about this park is the TV listing that was provided on check-in.

Dear Reviewer/Customer, It is unfortunate that you found our bathroom facilities not to your liking. We’ve been in business many years, we serve hundreds of customers a year, and we strive to create the best possible RV parking experience for the community. Fortunately last year we had the men's restroom completely remodeled with beautiful tile, new urinals and sinks...the whole shebang. Our women's restroom is about a third of the way done since we had to stop when more foot traffic rolled around after winter season. We shall continue improving on the women's restroom once things slow down. Lot's of foot traffic and a closed bathroom is not a good mix, ha-ha! Here is a link to our men's restrooms from yesterday 11/30/15 for people looking at these reviews. If you have any suggestions about what you believe needs to be improved on please contact us through Facebook, email at [email protected] or even by phone (913)-262-3023. We'd be happy to hear your suggestions and discuss them. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1064056100303595.1073741830.104971612878720&type=1&l=770766c578 Thanks, WGRV

While we were warned in another review that the pull through sites are narrow, we were dismayed at how very narrow our site was. Our slide was within two inches of the fifth wheel's slide next to us and our steps ran underneath their slide. We could not walk around our trailer and had to ask our neighbor to pull in their slide when we left. Everyone was friendly and the park was relatively clean, but I would not stay there again.

Greetings Don, First, thanks for leaving us a review. Second, we are so sorry to hear you did not enjoy the spot you stayed in. That is not acceptable to us and we deeply apologize for any confusion about the size of the spot. Our staff has been trained to promptly inform people of the pull through width and length in order to better accommodate our valued customers. If you booked online with us and did not see the information about it being small please let us know, we will go into the program and continue to make our service better. Walnut Grove RV Park has been here since the town of Merriam, Kansas first began so we are a smaller park with less space, our team of employees really have to focus on making sure people are fitting into their lots correctly and not going into others, slides and steps especially should be completely out of another lot. Unfortunately, sometimes we are unable to stop things from happening in some situations. Slide outs end up being larger than expected or extend over the line but we are not informed after leaving to our office, sometimes miscommunication happens on one end and things fall into place to create a problem for someone. We’d be very happy to accommodate you again here at our park if you ever come our way again. We’d give you a discount, the biggest lot we have available and of course our delicious coffee in the morning! Lot 403, our biggest pull through at 65ft long and TWICE the size of a regular pull through would be a great spot for you. Just please mention this review to anyone you speak with. If you have any suggestions please reach out to us on Facebook, email me at [email protected] or even give us a call at (913)262-3023. Thank you very much for your time, WGRV
