We stayed April 10-26 at Lakeside and thought the place pretty nice. Very relaxing and other campers were very courteous and friendly. The management let us drive around to see which site we'd like since we needed a little shade for our pups. We stayed in Site 84 because it was shaded most of the day. Very helpful management when we wanted to extend our stay, they advised that we go onto the website because that way we would get a double discount. $39/night on weekends, $29 on weekdays which we thought was very reasonable. The lawnmowers did come to mow the lawns around us and were a little noisy, but they were out of there fairly quickly. You have to be careful about sprinklers coming on and soaking your cement pad if you have grass adjacent to your site. That was not a problem at our site. It was mating season for ducks and geese, so lots of noise from geese early in the morning. You have to be careful walking your dog around geese during this time of year because they get very territorial. The walk around the lake is great for pups and people -- lots of fish and birds around. The spa was relaxing, and the pool was fairly clean. It is very shallow so great for kids. During the week, there was hardly anyone in the pool weekends a different story. The campground was 99% full on the weekend, but you could hear a pin drop after 10pm. Laundry facilities were orderly and clean. The women's shower adjacent to our site had about 1/2" of standing water on the floor shower shoes recommended. Still, the water was really hot and the facility spacious. We'll be back we had a very relaxing time at Lakeside.

This was a great spot. It was clean and quiet, the staff were helpful and friendly. The only thing is they don't have fire pits, so you'll need to bring your own. We will go back again.

Years ago we had stayed at this campground, we had a great time and the facilities were terrific. This past July we stayed at the campground and there were so many issues. Upon check in we were advised that there was an ant problem and if we got ants it was our responsibility to take care of the issue. Quite frankly, if this is a problem throughout the facility, we feel the issue needs to be handled by maintenance. We were also advised there was no eating in the pool are due to the ants. This issue was not enforced as we saw many people eating in the pool area. The bathroom showers had great water pressure but the shower drain was not screwed in and the paint was peeling. The swimming pool had pine needles in the water daily along with other stuff from the pine trees. One day it was so bad that we used the net to clean out the pool. We were there for two weeks and not once was the grass mowed. We will not stay at this campground again. We have already chosen a different one.

Unbelievable that this is a 10 10 10 Good Sam park! Really makes me wonder about the validity of their reviews. All three laundry facilities were 90% broken and unusable. Large rocks at entrance to some sites make parking difficult. Pollen and sap from trees will wreak havoc with vehicle finish and we took our truck to a car wash every other day. There were numerous permanent residents in the park, at least one with as many as 5 dogs. Dogs were barking much of the day. Grounds crew were working hard, but could not keep up with the goose and duck poop. Much of the landscaping was dead. A few of the residents actually ran their own sprinklers and had nice lawns. Casino is OK, with a good restaurant.

How Good Sam gives this facility a 10 rating is beyond me. You cannot reach the RV front desk by phone even when in the park. To make a reservation you need to go thru the website. Once you are at the park, you need to walk to the office and complain. I had to stand in line listening to other complainers. There was no internet. "We are working on it," or so they said. There are 3 combination restroom/laundry facilities. There are 4 washers and 4 dryers in each building. In two of the buildings, all 4 dryers had "Out of order" plastered on them. In the final building, I found 4 dryers with no signs. I put my 8 quarters in the washing machine but the spin cycle did not work so I ended up trying to wring the water out by hand. This place does not deserve 10 stars and I will now be wondering what I am paying for by being a Good Sam member when they can't give a better, more accurate, review.

We have stayed at Lakeside in the past. Not now online reservation is a joke. Can't put in discount info. Can't talk to anyone on the phone or in person. Buffet is also a joke. Come on Good Sam check out the grounds. They say there is a restriction on watering. Bring back Terrible's.

We have stayed at Lakeside several times and it has been good, however trying to book a site on-line does not work and you can not get anyone on the phone. The on-line booking does not let you select a site and charges you the full amount when booking, so you have no way of getting discounts, Good Sam, Passport America, etc.

Beautiful park with wide spaces and mature trees. Lovely lake, paved roads, concrete picnic tables, spacious. Convenient to Death Valley. The pass from Las. Vegas is a bit of an uphill struggle but a beautiful road and saves an hour off the old road. Wineries nearby. Nice automatic touch-less car wash in town. Highly recommended - worth the extra cost and properly rated 10-10-10.

I have stayed at this park many times over the years. I originally visited based on the 10-10-10 rating by Good Sam. It used to be beautiful, well maintained and friendly. This is no longer the case. The park is dirty with evidence of little or no maintenance taking place. The staff has an "I don't care" attitude. The information given at booking is misleading and incorrect. The trees (which used to provide shade) are dead or dying. There is little grass remaining. (the only sites that are attractive are the 'full timers' who maintain them on their own) The lake is overgrown with weeds. The fish population is depleted dramatically: unhealthy environment? I used to enjoy taking guests to this park but would be embarrassed to do so now. I will not visit again. How does Good Sam still give them a 10-10-10 rating? Shame on the park and shame on Good Sam for misleading their patrons. If you can't trust the ratings, what good are they?

Stayed here for 8 nights, what can I say! one of the best Campground's we stayed at on our 10 week westerns states trip from Canada. This park has the biggest and most level sites we have ever stayed in. The lake and the wildlife was awesome, and the lake is stocked for catch and release. The Casino while not my cup of tea was good to go for breakfast and the bar was great. Staff were excellent all through the park. Laundry and bathrooms immaculate. We highly recommend this park which is about 60 miles west of Vegas. Only 15 mins from major shopping and golf course nearby.

From afar all looks good. When you get in and set up you realize a lot of the trees are dying, the grass is cut weeds or dirt with sod mesh coming up. The full time resident RV's I have talked to do the maintenance on their site to make it look good. The rates have increased and maintenance is still almost nonexistent. I don't know how this place has kept a 10-10-10 rating unless they have paid for it which I doubt because they don't seem to put much back into this place. It used to be really nice but now it's turning into a smelly weed infested dirt lot being covered with crushed brick to try to cover up the dirt and weeds. The only thing that was nice were the restrooms in the RV park and the pool was resurfaced but now closes at 8:00 pm during the summer. It's sad how they have let this place go.

What a nightmare. They failed to give me the code for the bathroom door lock. So I went back to the office to get it, arriving there at 5:03 pm. The women in the office saw me approach and try to open the locked door but made ready to leave and ignored me. The next morning I tried to enter the bathrooms I paid to use but could not. A group of ducks living at the lake saw us and came over to beg for food. No problem. I love ducks. Several of them had fishing tackle hanging out of their mouths. We were horrified. Car traffic was continuous on the gravel road next to our campsite. That resulted in a thick cloud of dust that hung around our campsite all night, making it impossible to sit outdoors and enjoy the evening. Everything was coated in dirt by morning. The grass around our site had gone away due to heavy foot traffic, leaving bare dirt. That turned to mud during the night when the sprinklers began working. We woke up to a sea of mud around the RV. My advice is to avoid this awful place.

The setting for this park is terrific. Lots of trees, a small lake, ducks and geese etc. The sites are large, paved, and have plenty of privacy. The wi fi worked well enough to stream video. However, there are no cable hookups which is kind of surprising considering the "10" rating. Our issue is the lack of maintenance at the park. Dead tree limbs abound. The grass has gone to weeds but they water it anyway. Why? The pool is a mess. It looked fine from afar but upon further inspection it is in need of a major renovation. The plaster is chipping away all over the bottom with huge holes evident everywhere. The Kool Deck surface is worn away and there are sharp edges everywhere. The pool should not be open, period. The full timers we talked to said the park owners keep saying they will address it but nothing ever happens. From what we gathered from them is that this park was a "10" when it opened but has been in a steady decline since, due to several ownership changes. While we did enjoy our stay our expectations were not met. Beware of the "10" Good Sam rating. It is obsolete.

We have stayed here a number of times in our RV with friends. Those trips have always been pleasant. This trip was different. We checked in and opted to use a BOGO offer of pay one night get 2 free; the offer was listed on their site. Considering the recent rise in fees at this park, that was a good thing. Our friends checked in an hour later and were denied the use of the BOGO! While touting their 10-10-10 rating from Good Sam, they have let the park fall into disrepair. Facilities didn't seem as well kept, and exterior grounds included a lot of dead grass. Our departure was delayed because we lost all water pressure in the morning. My wife had to scramble out of an unfinished shower in the RV, and I had to deal with not being able to flush my sewer hoses or properly clean the RV. The office told us it was scheduled maintenance. No warnings were given.

The rv park is great. Good Elec, water. Plenty room between sites. The only problem I found was the personal in the casino.(club card & cage) very unfriendly, and very short with their remarks. We have stayed here many times over the past 10 years. The employees were great until the new owners took over.

We have stayed here multiple times over the last five years. Love the park and it's proximity to the casino and restaurant. I dinged them one star on the facility rating for the amount of duck/goose/coot poop on the walk ways. However, the birds are a great part of the park and I love to feed them. ...so I guess I shouldn't complain about the poop.

We stayed here for a month, Mid Oct. to mid Nov. I loved the little lake and the ducks and geese, but they do poop all over the place. The rules state to not feed the wildlife or you will be kicked out. No one is following the rules or getting kicked out. The geese can be quite demanding and were trying to taste test when my husband trying to BBQ. So funny! They usually have a guy cleaning the path around the lake, but haven't seen him in awhile. Be forewarned that they make monthlies move around a lot and appear to cater to the weekenders. We begged to stay in our nice shaded space, but were told it was reserved......it's been sitting empty for three days now, while we were forced into a full sun site next to the playground........ to be fair they did tell me we would have to move around when I reserved here, just can't figure out why! Other than that little glitch we think it's a great park! Most of the sites are good sized and at least partially shady. Just stAy away from the ones around the playground unless you enjoy listening to kids having a great time.

I would only suggest two things: 1. Don't fill your water tank with local water passing for potable at this source. 2. Use your flashlight at night when heading to common areas. A lot of the patches of lawn have large boulders placed that could trip you up if not light-assisted in your walk.

The park is an oasis in the desert. The sites are spacious and grassy. Walking paths are nicely maintained. The lake is gorgeous, especially since you are in the middle of the desert. 3 bathrooms, all maintained very well. Trees galore! Casino is adequately maintained (great payouts. Doubled my money in an hour! Restaurant is clean and inexpensive. Definitely one of the nicest RV parks I have stayed at.

This was my first camping experience at a full RV park, so I didn't know quite what to expect. The park was nice and the staff was very friendly, however I expected a bit more from a 10/10/10 Good Sam Park. Pluses: The spaces were very spread out and there was a lot of green grass. The lake was very nice and helped cool things down. The park overall didn't have the parking lot feel other places I've looked at seem to have. Minuses: The RV park is showing it's age and there is wear and tear evident all over. The connections for the RV, sidewalk, road, pool deck, paddleboats, etc, all appear to have been out in the Nevada sun for years without good sun protection. It is easy to see this once was a very excellent park, and with the proper attention, I think it would honestly earn that 10/10/10. But based on this experience, I'll put more stock in RV reviews then the Good Sam system.

Overall not a bad park, but the perfect rating must've been a few years ago. The site itself was a good size space and the park had plenty of large green trees and grass which was nice in this desert environment. The lake was beautiful and had many ducks which were fun to watch, however, this meant duck excrement all over the walking path, concrete at your site etc. Lots of it. The lake itself was well maintained and fishing available right there, however, if you want to ride the kayak's or paddle boats you have to hike around to find them, or drag them over from off-shore. But they were filthy, so we didn't want to get in them anyway. The casino was small but would've still been nice if there was any type of ventilation provided. It was like being on the inside of an ashtray. A smoky ashtray. That hadn't been cleaned for years. Restrooms and laundry rooms were clean and very conveniently there were THREE laundry rooms in the park so you didn't have to go too far from your site. The area immediately outside the park was not very good. One row at the back of the park had a great view of a gutted out burned up mobile home behind them...I know they can't control the property next door, but yuck. In summary, nice park, pretty lake, but overall undeserving of a perfect 10 score.
