The Port Angeles KOA is our 107th stop and stayed for 3 days to prep for a ferry crossing into Canada. The park is right next to 101 so you get some road noise but this is not uncommon if you stay at a place that is convenient to the highways. We were a bit from the highway and the noise is very limited from 9 pm to 5 am. The park is right next to 101 so you get some road noise but this is not uncommon if you stay at a place that is convenient to the highways. We were a bit from the highway and the noise is very limited from 9 pm to 5 am. The park itself is in start up mode for the season so the staff are doing a lot of prep work to get it ready including new stain and windows on the cabins. The hosts at check in were very nice and it was a quick process. As others have described it, the park is a little on the rustic side but is clean and well-maintained. We reserved one of the concrete patio pads and it was okay as compared to other KOA patio sites we have had at other parks though the leveling was a breeze. If you have a family, the pool is a good size, there is a playground and many other things for kids to do. The dog park was also a good size. All in all, a good KOA. Verizon 78.9 down/47.3 up T-Mobile 281.0 down/37.3 up KOA WiFi 117.0 down (not a mistake)/2.75 up. Two cell towers within a quarter mile of the park.

We stayed 3 nights to visit the Olympic National Park. The park is close to US-101 along a secondary street. US-101 is a divided highway at the intersection to turn off with turn lanes so getting across could pose a challenge either in or out. The entrance road is a single lane with hazards (large rocks & parked vehicles) along the road to reach the office. The traffic pattern is complicated causing congestion, choke points and tight turns. Registration parking interfers with passing vehicles. The interior roads are a mixture of pavement and gravel. The interior roads and turns are lined with hazards (large rocks) making it difficult at best to challenging to maneuver larger RV's depending on driver's skill level. The site parking pads are gravel. The sites are a mixture of back-ins and P/T's. The newer P/T sites were built on sloping terrain. There was an effort to tier the sites level but saw a Class C motorhome with front wheels completely off the ground trying to get level. The sites may not be long enough to stay connected to a toad. Sites had sufficient room for opening slides but the rock retaining walls could pose a hazard. They have full hook ups - water, electricity (50/30/20 AMP), & sewer. The utility connections were spread out along the sites. The sewer connection was at the rear and fitting was above ground making it difficult to establish a downhill flow depending on the discharge point. Distance and grassy areas establish privacy between the sites. Sites have an outside table & fire pits. In the newer P/T's sites the tree line didn't seem to interfere with satellite reception. A large portion of the park has an extensive tree canopy. Park information made no mention of cable or OTA broadcast channels. Didn't try to get any broadcast channels. The park provided password protected WiFi was sporadic at best. Didn't try our Verizon WiFi hotspot or NET10 phone so don't know about reception. There was one designated fenced pet area off in a far corner of the park so didn't use it. There were bag dispensers and collection stations for waste around the park. There was sufficient area to walk dogs along the park's roads. TIP: Seemed to be a popular place so reservations would be recommended. Very informative park brochure about the local area. Quite a few activities for children.
