I am being very generous with this rating! this was the dirtiest campground I've been in. People walking through your camp sites, very many tents, very loud, lots of kids and young adults running around. No supervision of anything and campers arguing with ground personnel. very expensive. would rather drive hours more than ever thinking of staying there again. I was ready to leave as soon as we arrived but I would have forfeited my deposit of $79.60.
Your directory has been my guiding light for camping over the last two decades! Your ratings have always been reliable and spot on. But, I recently stayed at Jellystone in Sturbridge, MA, and I think you may need to take another look. The campsite was pleasing in size and setting. The campground offered many amenities and activities in quantity but NOT quality. Most amenities were dated and had an additional fee; extra for using your A/C, extra for the WiFi, extra for the low level water park, mini-golf, etc. These rates were on the high side as was the site itself. We had a water/electric site that ran over $80 per night but the hook-ups were so far apart that we needed an extra 50 feet of cord and an extra hose to hook up. The office was friendly and offered to move us but other sites had other issues. No cable at this site either. The campground seemed to cater to many seasonal campers and these sites were often messy, covered with years of algae growth and foliage which greatly detracted from the campground's overall appearance. We still had a fun weekend with our grandchildren but we are accustomed to a classier place based on the rating. In short, we had a good time but felt your rating was a little high based on the quality of this campground, even though it offered a lot to do.
Pros; close to Sturbridge, multiple pools, wifi, cable tv, nice pond, easy highway access, nice staff. Con's; dusty, big rigs be careful it's narrow, wifi not free, one pool cost $6 pp per day, mini golf needs to be shut down as it is not maintained any longer and is not worth the cost. Utilities at the site are all over the place and should be centralized. Dump stations are poorly located, needed to drive halfway around the campground to get to one. Pools and buildings are very old and need to be revamped. Probably best for seasonals or tent campers, can not recommend larger campers going there. For the high cost I expect a lot more and not to have to pay for all the extra fees once I get there.
