Our plans were for 2 nights. We quickly realized we could not get a satellite signal in site 17 and when we attempted to change sites our motorhome would not start. A service technician didn't arrive until the following morning and once he got us started he said don't turn it off so we packed up and headed to Freight Liner 30 miles away. I thought or hoped that under those circumstances Aces High would be considerate enough to refund our unused night. First I was told probably minus a $20.00... Read More

First I was told probably minus a $20.00 credit card cancelling fee but was later informed that the manager said it refunds were against policy. She did however offer a credit for another night which is of no use to us as we were returning home to NC. We have been on the road from NC to Maine (4 weeks out) and this was the most expensive campground we stayed at including Niagara Falls. Aces High rate $80.00 per night, showers additional! It was nice campground but no nicer then most we stayed at. Lesson learned, when a campground is mostly empty only pay night by night and that this "luxury" campground is a crap shoot! As a side note Freight Liner let us camp for free and even furnished us with water and electricity. Sent from my iPhone

We stayed in our 5th wheel trailer for a week visit to the area and to visit with friends. Very nice pond view site. Level and spacious. Very quiet campground during the week. The internet coverage is very poor. The router was less than 5 spaces away from us and still we could not keep a reliable connection. Cable had at least 25 channels (good). But not much in the way of amenities besides the pool. I can't rate the playground as we don't have kids but it seemed small. It would have been... Read More

It would have been nice to have a fenced area to let our dog run unleashed. The grounds are well maintained, except at the end of the weekend all the trash dumpsters were overflowing and it wasn't until Tuesday they were empty. When we checked in we were given a campground map and nothing else (no channel guide for the cable, no activities schedule - so assumed there were none). Cannot speak to the restrooms because we use our own facilities. For what this campground offers, it is overpriced, hence the 3 stars.

Stayed 3 nights on a water site. View was excellent and campground clean and well maintained. Cable worked fine but Internet service didn't work at all for us. Also,we were surprised when told there is a 5% service charge for using a credit card; to use their ATM there's a 2% charge, so be prepared to pay cash. Showers cost 25 cents for 7 minutes. We shower in our RV.

After researching and visiting almost every campground in southern CT over the last few years, there is no question that Aces High is a superior facility comparatively. Against its local competition, it is a 5 star facility. Rated against other facilities nation wide, it would be a 3 to 3.5 star facility. Its a lovely campground with water everywhere: large aerated pond, an active stream running through the property and along a 1/4 mile +/- walking path. The sites are large and open and the gravel... Yes you can find things here to complain about as relatively new management learns the ropes but overall, you will not find a better camping experience in southern CT.

This was our second stay here, so we all know we were pleased with our first visit enough to return. And will continue to return. Mostly adult RVers, as there's not much for kids, one of the things we like the most. Adult time! Sites are nice and level and grounds well kept. Nice views of hillsides. Staff is accommodating but could be friendlier.
