We stayed in the park from 3/14/20 to 3/23/20, this is a great park and quiet. We were here for a quiet getaway and to visit the local State Parks. Entry in the park is very easy, right off Hwy 83. It's a long, straight road with good visibility in both directions.
Weather during our stay was rainy with temps ranging from 40 to 79, mostly cloudy and humidity in the 70-80% range. Most days were cloudy. Weather in the Hill Country changes rapidly, make sure you have a good weather radio. I'd recommend knowing that the RV park is in Real county, they should add this to the check-in information.
Checking was a breeze, they had all of the paperwork ready. The staff is great, Ron greeted us warmly, guided us to our spot and even offered to help us set up. Wow.
The trees are well-trimmed (live oak) and provided good shade (but not needed since it rained most of the time), the roads are good. There is one tree when coming in that could cause problems, it's on the left and you can see where there was an RV hit on the branch. Be careful and it won't be a problem.
We were in #46 which is a pull-thru, the hookups are well placed with regards to the pad. The pad surface is hard pack gravel and provided excellent drainage. The pad width is good, slight crowning down the centerline to help with drainage, the left side is a bit lower than the right side but was not a problem. The separation between sites is good, there was a picnic table, grill, and available fire ring. Plenty of trees that are well-trimmed by the site.
Water quality is excellent, the pressure was a consistent 45 psi with good flow.
Sewer hookup is new, they require a seal/donut which was not a problem. We never noticed a smell while in the park.
Cable has plenty of programming, good quality signal and included in the cost of the site.
WiFi is good most of the time, be patient and don't expect to stream HD movies, it's not designed for that. We did notice disconnects from time to time but it wasn't a problem.
Trash pickup is daily at your site, the camp hosts are always making the rounds so it's continually getting picked-up. A recommendation is to only put trash out between 9 AM and 7 PM, anything other than that and you run the risk of feeding the Texas Hill Country critters.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the restrooms and showers closed during our stay, this was a good thing, they are listening to the recommendations and watching out for health concerns.
There is a play area in the park, we did not use it but the area is well kept and looks like kids would have fun.
We would definitely stay here again.
