Called a year in advance to make reservation at this place so we could get two quiet sites suitable for two class A's units. When we arrived we were told there ware no premium sites available for the full 7 day stay, we were given two small noisy sites right on Hwy 16 barley big enough for our coaches. We ask the owner for a refund and she was extremely rude and argumentative. She refused to refund our deposit and cancel our reservation. Plenty of other friendly RV Parks in the area, so this will not be on our list for future visits to the Black Hills.

We stayed there for the Sturgis Rally , the owner and staff were way more helpful and polite than I have ever come across. We did trailer our bikes and they even helped unload them , WOW ! Hats off to them . Beautiful place , clean and quiet . Looking forward to staying there again, they made us feel like family , thank you for making our vacation so special

For a visit to the Black Hills area it's hard to pick out a good location from which to explore the many attractions in the area. We chose this one which is a few miles south of Rapid City. We drove our toad quite a bit to reach Badlands, Mount Rushmore, Wind Cave, etc. It's a large park with mostly pull-thru sites and lots of trees. There are mostly gravel driveways and site pads although our site had a concrete pad. We had a full hook-up site with 50amp electric. It was located in the front row near Highway 16 so we definitely got road noise with the windows open. The free WiFi is barely functional, they don't offer cable. We could not use our satellite due to the trees. The bathrooms were kept clean and well supplied and the laundry room was in good condition. I consider it a bit pricey, but I guess you chalk that up to proximity to the Black Hills in peak summer. We paid $58.31 per night.

Park is terraced in a hollow with a lot of pine trees. Gravel roads are very narrow, badly rutted and not flat, tall rigs need to watch for leaning into trees. Sites are gravel and narrow, they too are rutted and not level. Was time consuming getting the rig level. No room for the toad. Sewer hookup was on driver side and water and electric hookup was on passenger side, needed an extension cord for the electric hookup. No satellite reception and the park does not have cable tv. Did not check out the facilities as we decided to leave and go up the road to a nicer RV park. We did not get any of our three day charges back. Front office people were rude and unfriendly when we told them we were not staying. I know that there are rules on refunds, however I explained that our tow vehicle had to be parked in a down hill position and that my wife who needs to use wheelchair and was unable to use unable to maneuver the site. They never offered to change our site and just said they were sorry your not happy with your site. I asked if we could get some kind of a refund and they said no. I can see them charge us for one day even though we only stayed for a few minutes. But not to return the other two days we also paid for is not fare. There are exception to all rules and my wifes in ability to maneuver the site should have been a good reason to refund some of the $165.00.

Recently changed ownership and its name to American Buffalo RV Park. The new owners are very friendly and really working hard to make this park really nice. The only negative about the park was that we were there at the peak of the pine tree pollen. Everything, and I mean everything, was yellow every morning. Worse than our oak tree pollen at home. Park is conveniently located to Rapid City and all the area attractions. Custer State Park and Needles Highway are a "must do". We would definitely stay there again! Those with large motorhomes and trailers might want to look elsewhere. This park is on a hill and the roads are a little tight with lots of ups and downs. Of course, this is part of it's charm.

Used this location as a base camp for touring. Did the Black Hills one day ( Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, Wind Cave, Crazy Horse, and Deadwood) and the Badlands, Minuteman Missile Historic Sites, Wall Drug and the South Dakota Air & Space Museum the next day. Easy trips from this location. Still had time to get the $2 all you can eat pancake breakfast and enjoy the pool. Quiet site and great staff! We will be back!

We really liked this resort. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a huge pull thru campsite (actually 2 sites, but we were assigned both as were other campers - could be different if the park was full). The restrooms are well maintained. The highway is a little noisy until midnight, but more quiet from midnight to 6 AM. Very convenient to all the tourist attractions, but away from the crowds that go along with them.

We had called ahead of time and asked if there were fire rings when we got there we were on a site that had no ring they said oh no fires on this one sorry. When we pulled in they gave us a map suppose to turn at shower house but it's not labeled we had to ask for help they should of led us to the site. There was very little water presure and no hot water at all. Will not be back but I'm sure they could make it better.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The facility was very clean with friendly staff. Lots of trees and shade. Bathrooms older but clean and nice. The only negative is the road noise. The facility is right off Hwy 16 on a hill and you can hear all of the traffic on this very busy hwy. However we would stay here again.

Very enjoyable stay. Had a pull through space back in the pines. No highway noise. Very convenient to all the area attractions. Nice area to walk our dog. Everyone we talked to praised the park. Driving to the parking space roads seemed to be narrow, but actually had plenty of room through those trees, Make sure park just short of office when checking in. This will ensure you don't have to back up to reach access roads. Especially important if pulling a toad.

A beautiful place to stay! The property has huge Lodgepole pines on a rolling landscape that can accommodate any size motorhome, or trailer. Great employees and accommodations. Close to Mount Rushmore, the Crazy Horse monument and Custer State Park .There are tons of other things to see and do in the immediate area.
