We called and made our reservation at Sparks Marina RV Park a couple of months before we arrived. I let the lady who answered the phone know that we have a 1999 Winnebago, she asked what kind of shape it is in, I said it’s good, 22 years old but has all the doors and windows. We arrived and was checked in by a very nice employee. We set up camp as usual, put our cat condo that has a bottom and totally enclosed in the window, this allows our two house cats to enjoy the area, the condo is a small pet kennel, well made and looks nice, we have had many people take pictures and asked where we got it. On our third day at the park my wife received a call from the park and was told very gruffly to remove the cat cage from the window, stuff like that is not allowed, the caller was rude and demanding. As soon as we got back to the park, we unloaded groceries and removed the cat condo. My wife and I re read the rules, nowhere could we find anything about cat condos or windows. I went down to the office and let them know the condo was removed, the gentleman at the counter said thanks, he said he was the one that called, I said you didn’t have to be so rude, he said he must be rude to make sure things get done. About this time the manager came out and said he trained him that way and that’s the way it is. I said I always try to follow the rules, but I didn’t see where I was breaking any of the rules. Both the counter person and the manager said its in the rules, I said I could not find anything can they show me. Both employees looked through the rule book, neither could find the offence listed. Without a reply, the manager in a very gruff manner said your rig is a 1999 and you should not even be here, we don’t take anything over 10 years old. I explained when I registered, I said it is a 1999, the lady said it would be OK, that didn’t matter to the manager, he stated he was doing us a favor letting us stay but we would never be allowed back in with that rig. This entire time the lady in the office kept yelling that when we registered, we were told we can’t put anything in the windows (not true). Anyway, in our opinion the management is rude, enforces rules that may or may not exist and has a little bit of a power trip. Although we had 3 days left at the park and knew they would not refund our money for the remaining 3 days, we packed up and left. I’m a retired US Navy Officer with 30 years of active-duty service, my wife is a retired Nurse, we both are pretty laid back but the attitude repeatedly displayed by the staff at Sparks Marina RV Park was unnecessary and uncalled for, we did not feel comfortable staying. When an organization makes up rules on the spot and then don’t enforce their own rules makes life difficult for the customer
