Many year round residents. Tight quarters. Good ground and trees. Very quiet. Central to Peoria. Super nice people.

We stayed at Spindler for 2 weeks in April. We are originally from the area and now full time RV. It is a good location for us because it is central to friends and family in the area. We do not use the bath or shower houses because we are fully contained so I can't comment on that. They have a small playground, which is nothing to write home about, but it does the job for the little ones. It is nice that it is next to their pavilion in the event you are having a gathering, the kids have something... Read More

The sites are pretty close together, the layout at Millpoint a few miles down the road is probably nicer, but again, location for us is important. The staff is very nice and the police do drive thru often as it is a park district park. There are several people that are seasonal and people living there going to work daily. They are closing the park this winter for a few months which will deter from people just literally living there in their RV's. We will stay there again when we are in town. We full time in a 40' 5th wheel.

The staff was very nice and accommodating. The region jjust had a Fair amount of rain prior to our arrival. Other campgrounds in the area were having water trouble. Despite being right on the on the Illinois river or campsite had no standing water or mud.
