Spent 4 nights here in early May. Sites are HUGE. We choose site #68 (as I recall.). It is a first come site selection even with a reservation. The site was at the very back of the campground very close to a super clean shower/bathroom/washer dryer facility. The site had to be close to a half acre, well a 1/4 acre for sure! There are about 6 miles of interconnected walking/biking trails. Not all trails are open to bicycles. Really pretty walk through the forest and along a bit of the intercostal... Read More

Very short bike ride to a Publix and a bit of other shopping. There is one bar/restaurant in the shopping center. We stopped there a few times after a bike ride for a beer. Really friendly staff, cold beer and the apps were good. PRO TIP...if you ride your bike to the Publix shopping center head out of the park past the office...turn left into the parking lot behind the United Methodist Church. There is a path that leads to the center. Would most certainly stay here again. Bring bug spray. We had a few times where they were pretty thick.

The camp grounds are beautiful. There is a lot of space between camp sites. The bathrooms are heated/cooled and clean. The washers and dryers are outside and there is only one per comfort station (three stations on site). There are sites available with sewer along the main entrance road, and that was not shared with us when we selected our site, but that would have been nice to have. Overall, we really liked the park and will be back.

If you like or love State Parks, Georgia seems to know how to do it well, at least at this location. The ratings are "state park" adjusted, meaning expecting a state park to look like a high end private RV park would be misplaced. What I like most about this park is the setting & how the campsites are arranged providing privacy / space that you usually do not see in most RV parks of any type. Gravel RV sites with picnic table & concrete pod for tent(?). 2nd fav was the Ranger staff, friendly &... Read More

Gravel RV sites with picnic table & concrete pod for tent(?). 2nd fav was the Ranger staff, friendly & very helpful especially with 1st time visitors (me). It's reasonably priced & a few discounts available. Found the restrooms / showers clean & functional. There were only a couple of Laundry machines spread between two restroom bldgs. It was SO peaceful, walking paths & trails, Ranger programs, etc....look at the website. Easy access to Savannah, shopping options nearby. DEFINITELY would return.
