We stayed in back-in full-hookup site #100 and the tree shade was excellent. Leveling was a bit of a challenge for our 28 foot class A RV though. There are lots of pull-through sites in other areas but none of them have tree shade. Finding a site next to the river is just about impossible unless you get insanely lucky. Bathroom #4 was very clean and well maintained. A country store is located about 1 mile from the campground. It has basic supplies and gas pumps. 10% discount on in-store purchases for Thousand Trails members (alcohol excluded.) A decent sized grocery store is in Groveland about 20 miles away. We tried several fun hiking trails inside the park during our stay. Lots of places to bike as well. Warning: there is no cell service at this campground. You have to drive almost 2 miles for AT&T or Verizon. To find a signal, turn left out of the campground on Highway 120. Go a little over a mile and then turn right on Sawmill Mountain road. Look for a sign that says "Sawmill Mtn Area." Then drive about 100 yards and there is a small turnout to the left near a green gate. Look for the fake tree with light brown bark that is actually a cell tower. The complimentary laundry room wifi was terrible. We did not try the optional paid wifi. The nearby Evergreen Lodge has excellent food and terrific wifi! To get there, turn right out of the campground on Highway 120 going towards Yosemite. Drive about 4 miles and then take the left turn to Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. Campground lodge was closed due to Covid.

They were more dusty and many were closed with signs that they were under repair. There is zero cell reception and zero Internet unless you walked to a central building where you could get a free service. Very convenient place to stay if you are going to the park. Just 5 miles away from entrance. Facility is clean but a bit primitive. Gravel and dirt camping area for non-members. First come, first serve so no reserved spaces. Very friendly staff.

The only real complaint was the number of flies that always want to hover around your head. The Country Store is about 1/4 mile away on Hw 120, but their gas is very expensive - about 40 cents more per gallon than in Groveland. However, it has a good variety of items - wine, RV accessories, and souvenirs. This is a family oriented park with a 9-hole mini golf course, badminton, volleyball, basketball, a swimming hole in the river. NO CELL PHONE SERVICE and in the lodge VEEEEEERY slow wifi!

Great time of year to go. Temps mild during day, cool at night. Able to use fire rings and be outdoors all day. Grounds very clean and very quiet as it was not heavily occupied. Staff quiet and responsive. No issues to speak of. Covers all types of camping. Not a concrete jungle which we were happy to see. Gas station and store close by; town w/ restaurants nearby. Easy drive to Yosemite park entrance. About a 1 hr drive into Yosemite Valley floor.
