Big rig friendly? We have a 34' 5th wheel that is 12.5' tall. We couldn't get into the first site they gave us, and squeezed into the 2nd by parking in the middle of it. We attempted to change to a monthly rate, and had to move to another site and couldn't get into it. We then left. They have a tree problem, and apparently do not want to trim trees. How this park got a 9 is beyond me; maybe a 6 on a good day. Big rigs, stay away.

This was our second stay at American Sunset. When we were there the park was nearly full but it was a fun and pretty quiet type of full so we appreciated that! The owners and staff are friendly and professional in every encounter we had. The landscaping and roads are very well maintained and our site was easy to set up with adequate space. Their store is very impressive with a wide variety of RV supplies, toys, jewelry, food and other goods. They have propane - which we needed! The rec hall is very spacious and well organized. The bathrooms were good. They have a very nice fish and clam cleaning station which is a pretty big deal here in the Westport area! We enjoyed the short trip into Westport (eat at Bennetts and get seafood at Marenos) where we enjoyed walking the pier and seeing lots of sea lions, pelicans and puffin-type birds among others. There was a great variety of ships and boats in dock. Beautiful views of the ocean from the observation deck at the harbor. We would definitely stay here again.

A friend recommended this place. It's PERFECT for family with lil kids. Both my boys burn their energy so much, they had couple naps a day lol.. only tiny disappointment that previous camper didn't pick up few pieces of trash. Definitely would be back!

Very nice campground, level sites, shady trees. The crows can be a little loud at times. We would happily stay here again. The staff was very accomodating.
