We stayed here primarily to visit Joshua Tree National Park. This park is very near to the north entrance for the park. We had a pull through site with 50 amp electric, water and sewer. The site surface was gravel and there was a small asphalt patio, no picnic table or fire pit. There is an indoor pool but we didn’t make use of it. They have WiFi but it is only available at their office or in an adjacent game room but it was fairly slow. If you’re going to have limited access it should be higher quality. The men’s bathroom was not cleaned very well and was poorly supplied. Frequently there was no toilet paper or paper towel available. However, my wife said that she had no issues with the ladies restroom. We paid $41 per night on a weekly rate.
We stayed at 29 Palms RV park for a month. It has nice facilities and a great activity director with tons of activities. Nice park with fairly level spots. Now for the rest of the story. They advertise Wifi but it is only available near the park office so the most of the spots do not have any at all. The septic system vents real bad when the wind is blowing and the smell is overwhelming to say the least. The electric cost is out of site. We were there a month in good weather and paid more than we have ever paid in any park the 4 years we have been on the road. Needless to say we will not return to this park, due to the lack of Wifi and the smell that is present 90% of the time.
Poor water flow
Poor office service
Too close to highway- loud
Tar on parking pads gets on shoes and in RV
Spaces small & close together
Good laundry facilities
Good access to Joshua Tree NP
Close to town
Very friendly staff. Great facilities. Very clean and modern showers. An indoor pool that was clean and comfortable! An indoor jacuzzi, that was clean, but weak jets. A dry sauna. Spots had plenty of room. We have a 30' travel trailer, and had tons of room with friends' Class A parked next to us. Full extension of awning, picnic table, grill.
The town of Twenty-nine Palms leaves A LOT to be desired. But the campground is about 5 -7 minutes from the entrance to Joshua Tree NP, and about 10 minutes from 29 Palms Marine Base (if you are eligible) for supplies. Otherwise, there isn't much here.
We did enjoy our stay here to visit the park, though. We are returning in December.
