the park's setting and site layout, function and identification of signage, overall exterior building maintenance, noise, trash disposal, litter and debris around the grounds and sites, and appearance of grounds, sites and entrance area.
We stayed the last week in November thru the first week in December. Park is beautiful and well maintained. Very level concrete spots. Not a lot to do in town and most restaurants are closed half time with winter hours. Location is great for lighthouses with 5 of them within minutes to an hour away. Laundry room takes credit cards or quarters which was nice but room was narrow for multiple people. Internet not good or secured. Water pressure also not good tho maintenance guy tried to,help us figure it out and thought it was our hose. But every park before and after this one the water pressure was awesome so definitely the park
Worst camping experience of my life! Management is very poor. A lot of locals live at this park, and they think they own the place. They allow smoking in the pool area, and they condone blowing smoke in people's faces. If you say something, they will kick you out of the park. They called a police woman out, that they all knew, and had fun kicking me and my family out for not wanting smoke in our 2 year olds face! If you want to spend money and time with people like this, then this is the place to go.
I would have stayed longer here if I could have. Nice facility, heated pool, supply store, fairly close to town for a good stock up. The beach is across the street and is a great beach for long walks. The sites were level concrete and nicely landscaped with palms and various flowering shrubs. Many people seemed to reside there during the season. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The laundry facilities were immaculate with newish, very efficient machines. I will definitely return.
Nice little layover RV park while your traveling between destinations. The location is good for easy off/easy on access to the highway. The park was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The concrete sites are far from level and when they designed the park, they maximized the amount of RVs they could hold, leaving small individual sites.
The beach is right across the highway so access to it was very easy.
Overall it is a good park, however, they have some neighbors to their west that have a large pack of dogs that bark constantly. If I was in the area again I would stay here again.
It was a nice place but trying to back the trailer into such a tight space was not easy. The dog area was great, and the view was nice. We just wouldn't go there again because of the sites being so cramped.
We stayed here several years ago when it was new and not crowded. This year we had trouble getting a reservation when we wanted, but adapted our itinerary. The place is pristine, but many sites are way too small or large RV's. Had to park the truck kind of sideways to not be in driveway. Sites are level, but too narrow. Slides too up most of walking space beside the coach so we had to walk on the mulch. Wifi is lousy. Utilities are fine. Decent cable TV selection. Just across from beach which is a plus. I would have rated 5 stars if sites were bigger.
Very clean and modern.. very nice employees, very helpful... grounds well taken care of... short walk to beach and nice bike ride to light house. Quiet area, had a great time... we will be back !!
I spent about 3 1/2 weeks at this facility during August 2015. The staff is helpful and very friendly. The facility is neat and well maintained. Our coach is a 42+ footer with a tag axle, and we found the interior roads a bit tight. But we were able to get parked with no problem since all the other folks there were courteous and more than willing to move vehicles, etc. to accommodate us so we could maneuver.
The facility is located on US98, and there is a bicycle path/lane that goes all the way out to St. George's island that is well maintained for road bikers. It's about 19 miles, and has limited stops, so make sure you pack your water bottle. You can refill in East Point (about 12 miles up the road) before continuing on to the island or turning around.
The only restaurants in the area are locally owned with the exception of a Subway. We enjoyed trying out the different restaurants, and found the advice of the campground staff and other locals invaluable in finding good places to go.
Campground has a small convenience store. The IGA Grocery store is 2.4 miles away.
Water pressure was occassionally low, but we simply switched to the internal tank and ran the water pump when it was. We didn't see this as a major issue.
The beach is DIRECTLY across the street. You can walk to it! Dogs (if well behaved) area allowed off leash.
