Arrowhead campground, Uwharrie Nat. Forest. Access to the campground is narrow winding paved road off of NC109 except for the last mile +- which was dirt road. Be sure to follow the directions on the website as there are other dirt roads to the CG that are not very big RV/camper friendly. The CG loop and sites are paved though. Not all sites have electricity - none have water but there are several water faucets around the loop. Labor Day weekend the CG was full - advanced reservations are a must... Read More

Not all sites have electricity - none have water but there are several water faucets around the loop. Labor Day weekend the CG was full - advanced reservations are a must for holidays and weekends. CG on Baden Lake but no waterfront campsites - sites on a ridge above lake shore within easy walking access. Boat ramp/launch available very near CG. This is a recreation area with off-road vehicle trails, boating, horse camps/trails, and hiking. A lot of campers had towed boats or ATV trailers. Seems to be very poplar recreation area. One bathhouse with separate M/F/handicap toilets, sinks, and one-temperature-fits-all showers. One family/handicap combination restroom/shower. Nothing fancy but adequate. Campers entertain themselves - no other programs or planned on-site activities. Dump station and hose friendly fresh water fill-up near entrance/exit but when I was there the fresh water spigots didn't work at either - so no wash water at the dump. Other campers said this water is usually working. I'm more of a no frills camper so overall, this was my kind of CG. I thought the setting and scenery were good. All wooded and mostly shaded camp sites, No open areas in the CG. I was pleased that other campers were well behaved and they kept the noise and visible alcohol to a minimum. Pet friendly - all on leash or in an on-site pen. Every site had lantern pole and picnic table. Several double sites available. Several pull-through sites. Check out the Nat. Forest website for more CG and area details.
