Overall a very bad experience. Since the campground advertises no reservations I called the week before my visit to check if there were any events in the area that might fill the campground and to see what to do if I arrived late. I was told not to worry and when I arrived to pick a site and register in the morning. I arrived, drove through the open gate, set up and registered in the morning. Later I was approached by the campground host who rudely asked my how I got in and that she had closed the campground for a group (remember, no reservations ). She blamed a broken gate on my being able to get in and set up. Had the gate worked I would have been denied access at 8 PM to a campground which had told me a week before there would be no problem in a city I knew nothing about with nowhere else to stay.
First, it was our FIRST camping experience. Second, it rained the entire time! Keep that in mind.
The salesperson that originally helped us with our purchase was onsite when we arrived and spent over an hour of his time showing us first-timers how to set up the trailer and all of its features. He made it easy!
The sites themselves were big enough for our 36' trailer without any issues. The overall area was a little tight, but worked. The aesthetics were not what I hoped for, but this campground is attached to the dealership. It worked for its purpose.
There is a lake onsite for fishing and plenty of space for our dog to do what dogs do. The site host was friendly and there were no negative issues relating to the site or the personnel we dealt with.
We did have a need for a technician to take a look at a couple of issues concerning our trailer. This was easy to arrange and the tech and advisor were friendly.
Overall, we enjoyed our first experience and got the instruction we needed. I am glad we chose this location as our first.
This is not a destination I would put at the top of our future-visits list simply due to the location onsite at the dealership and within a mile of the interstate. We are looking for more natural surroundings.
