Two big issues: 1. single dump station that's mostly broken and positioned so the camper tips away from the station, making it impossible to dump tanks. 2. Some of the worst maintained bathrooms I've seen. I left the showers feeling far dirtier than when I entered. On the plus side, the pool is in great shape

Large rigs need to be aware that sites 13-17 are side by side sites and do not have enough room to open slideouts when both sites are used. It was very difficult to back into the site as the electric box was on one side and the concrete patio on the other. The second camper had to pull into the site and unhook with his tow vehicle going up the hill behind the site. When they opened their slideouts it was impossible for us to use our bedroom and kitchen slides. These sites are only suitable for... Read More

I found this one through the GoodSam website even though they are not connected with GS (only military and KOA discounts). This and one in Blossvale were the only listed places open so early in the season (4/24) so my options were limited. Stayed with my 3 teens and our mutt; didn't even know about the Herkimer diamond, but will check out the museum in the morning since we're here. The campground is lovely and we got a spot right by the river for no extra cost. RV dump drain on the way out so... Read More

We didn't need the restroom facilities so can't comment on that, but they look rather new. The grounds are well-kept and staff who checked me in was very nice and helpful. A family-friendly place with pool (too cold yet), playground and disc golf course. Plenty of grassy areas to walk the dog and who doesn't like to hang out by a river? Normally a light sleeper, I didn't notice the highway noise at all. My only wish would be for more grass surrounding the river sites to keep dirt from tracking into the RV. Over all, it's quite a nice park, with easy access for our 28' rig and good signage. Definitely would recommend.

What a great, restful campground! We had just started a 5 week trip, and had a long first day. The campground is very open, easy to get around, fully equiped and with very friendly personnel! Wide variety of accommodations, we were astounded that they had cabins with solar panels on the roof. Liked it so much we stayed a second night before heading out, and glad we did!

My wife and i stayed at this campground for 10 days and for the life of us we can not understand why people rate this high? Yes you can see where there is effort (new bath house by end tent area, Yes the staff (when pushed could be helpful) but over all the park needs a lot of work, the roads are horrible the base is so course it is hard and painful to walk on, because of the type of gravel i needed to vacuum the coach every two days, the "Deluxe site" i stayed on backs right up on rt 28 which we... When i rated for KOA i stated i would be writing a letter to Corporate so i will also copy it to GoodSam as there rating is also wrong. Now to defend the park there is a TON of potential, the river is a huge draw, the diamond mine is a huge draw (but the mine needs a lot of work also) so there could be an amazing park here if the right work and manager was in place.

You will enjoy this camping experience, with children or without children. If you have a family then the pool, river, playground and Diamond Mines are perfect. Plus all the planned events. Without children, we went Kayaking about 1/2 hour away on West Lake.. peaceful and inviting. The campground itself has the most courteous staff. They are there to help you with everything and they all seem to know every position in the park. The park grows their own vegetables and herbs that you can use for... Read More

We were there awhile ago with our grandchildren and they loved the mines and river. This time it was an older group and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. We could see the improvements that they have added, solar cabins, telescope cabins and more sites. All sites are level and easy to drive or back into..
