This is a beautiful out of the way from crowds (Except during Tarpon Rodeo I been told) place to stay. We camped here and drove inland for some sightseeing ie French Quarter, Air Boat rides etc... But we loved the beach area. The water is murky (Mississippi empties up the coast). But if your into fishing and crabbing this is the place. A few Marinas with Boat guides to hire! This is a beautiful out of the way from crowds (Except during Tarpon Rodeo I been told) place to stay. We camped here and drove inland for some sightseeing ie French Quarter, Air Boat rides etc... But we loved the beach area. The water is murky (Mississippi empties up the coast). But if your into fishing and crabbing this is the place. A few Marinas with Boat guides to hire! Every morning we go down and watch the pod of dolphins play. The Restrooms are brand new with nice showers. They have full hook ups and large pull through spaces. They have a FREE laundry mat for those staying. Except the the washer was broke the day I needed to use it. But the Staff attendant stated they were getting a new one soon. Only gripe i have is they do advertise WIFI. Yes it is there.... barely.....we could not pick it up and we were 3 spaces down from it. Not a strong signal at all. We never could get it to work on phones or laptops. Only way was to go to shower house. There is one grocery store and a couple of places to eat. The grocery Store items are high price. Even the shrimp in there. If you want fresh shrimp cheap, Go to the Marinas buy directly from the boats. Anyway, My third time here and I love it when I want go to a quite beach. A friendly place.
