We stayed at Buckeye Lake KOA for a week. Our stay started with the 50 amp electrical power not working, it took KOA staff over an hour to respond and replace a breaker, the 30 amp worked fine. The next day a RV parked in the site next to us and requested a picnic table and was told “if they don’t like it here they can receive a refund and leave”. They were so mad since all other campsites had tables and they thought the request was a simple one. That evening our traveling neighbors that requested... Read More

That evening our traveling neighbors that requested the table had a fire in the provided fire pit. Later that evening we walked by and started a conversation and we noticed a fire extinguisher. We asked what the fire extinguisher was for and they stated the sites were so tight they were afraid the fire would start our RV on fire. There was about 4 – 5 feet between their fire and our RV. Buckeye Lake KOA Campground is no longer a campground but a park for full time residents. The full time residents seem to feel entitled and have no regard to actual traveling RV campers. The full time residents have almost the entire section of the park from space 36 through 88. That would be fine but the KOA park staff still place RV campers in that section. The full time residents park multiple vehicles and golf carts so the majority of the RV campers in that section have issue parking, and leaving with their RV’s. The full time residents have constructed patios, garages, setup chairs, lights just as a regular single family residence. The full time residents also drive their cars, trucks, and golf carts through vacant spaces. The park is dusty enough but driving cars and carts through vacant sites raises even more dust, debris, loose cotton from the cottonwood trees, and removes any privacy or enjoyment from RV campers in adjacent spaces. What is even scarier is the driving of speeding golf carts by children, as the KOA staff just watch. The parking situation is so bad we watched as a big RV bus tried to leave the park for 30 minutes, but was stuck due to the over parking of the full time residents. The full time residents also walk alone, in groups, and with their pets through vacant camp sites. For the most part the full time residents are rude, entitled and have no respect for the traveling RV campers who are paying to stay. We thought it was just the full time residents then we saw Buckeye Lake KOA staff driving their golf carts through vacant camp sites. Part of the Buckeye Lake KOA staff was friendly and helpful the balance of the staff was just like the full time residents, RUDE. We have traveled within 25 states and have stayed at hundreds of parks over the past 10 years and have never had such a bad stay. We will never stay here again and can only hope our review is posted and taken seriously, TRAVELING CAMPERS BEWARE.

This is an extremely nice KOA campground. We opted for the "super site" and was glad we did as we enjoyed cement/paver brick patio with table and chairs, double glider, bar-b-que grill and fire ring, with nice grass bordering. Trees are all trimmed and not in the way of moving RV's. Employees are all exceptionally nice. Altogether very well maintained.

One of the nicest KOA's we've ever been in. Sites were long and flat and the facilities were very good. We would definitely go back there.
