A rather small campground with two loops for camping and one very large day use area. The upper loop is away from the beach by about a quarter mile and the other loop is very close to the beach... 10 sites on that loop are actually ON the beach. There are very few spots that will take much over 25 foot but at least one or two in each loop will. The 10 spots on the beach are amazing!! The fire pits and tables are about 400 feet to the water and the surf can always be seen and heard! The beach... Read More

The fire pits and tables are about 400 feet to the water and the surf can always be seen and heard! The beach side sites are expensive and primitive... and if you can't camp without a genset running all the time this isn't the place for you. Genny hours are 10AM to 8PM. Many of the sites are VERY close together but the beach is the attraction here even though it is a look don't touch beach... dangerous undertows, sneaker waves and sharp drop off spells disaster for some most every year. The camp host is friendly and accommodating... dogs are welcome everywhere except trails and bathrooms. We were told that dogs must be on a leash... but "we don't tend to notice good well behaved dogs that are not leashed"... and indeed most every dog we saw was off leash especially on the beach. Sites on the beach are VERY hard to reserve and next to impossible on weekends or any summer day. We loved our last trip there... whales and dolphins were out in the surf and we watched them from our campsite. The restrooms are white tiled with flush toilets, 110 outlet and very clean and rarely smell, bring your own paper towels to dry hands. No showers available but they are available a couple miles up at Bodega Dunes Campground for free if you are registered at Wrights Beach.

This is a small but popular State Beach campground on the Sonoma County coastline. Limited size for RV's but they have a few spaces for over 27ft. There are no hookups or a dump station or cell service. The ocean views are gorgeous and the beach area is large for walking and hiking. Large steel fire pits and tables in the site. There are trails above the beach that extend several miles and are easily hiked. Verizon cell will work above the beach. You need to make reservations during peak times... Read More

We came mid week with reservations and there was space available. There is a campground host on site. Swimming and water activities are not permitted due to the surf and undertow conditions. We will definitely be returning to this campground.
