We stayed 4 nights to see the area based upon the positive reviews for this location. That was a mistake. The park is far enough from I-76 (Exit 43, SR-14) so there is no noise from the Interstate but if you follow the signs to the park they take you along Rock Spring Rd (SR-183). Rock Spring Rd is in poor condition - narrow, patches over patches. It is better to use SR-14 to SR-5 to Rock Spring Rd. We stayed 4 nights to see the area based upon the positive reviews for this location. That was a mistake.
The park is far enough from I-76 (Exit 43, SR-14) so there is no noise from the Interstate but if you follow the signs to the park they take you along Rock Spring Rd (SR-183). Rock Spring Rd is in poor condition - narrow, patches over patches. It is better to use SR-14 to SR-5 to Rock Spring Rd. Using that route, you only have to go over a steep railroad crossing overpass just after you turn off SR-5 onto Rock Spring Rd. Yes, there is train noise in the park from these nearby tracks and low flying military cargo aircraft.
Our rating was influenced by how well the park is cared for and condition of the shower/laundry/bathhouses. Had it not been cared for so well and the shower/laundry/bathhouses in such good condition, the rating would have been lower as this is another park that doesn't understand the simple concept of the importance of a flat, level parking pad!
The interior roads and site parking pads were paved. Only a handful of sites appeared level. The majority had a single or double pitch some of which were significant. Saw one Class C motorhome with about 12" of blocking under one from tire and about 6" of blocking under the other front tire trying to get level. Saw one travel trailer with the rear stabilizing jacks extended completely with about 6" of blocking under the jacks and the tongue hitch right on the ground trying to get level. There is a lot of privacy between the sites due to vegetation and park layout. They have full hook ups - water, electricity (50 AMP), & multiple sewer connections. The utility connections were about mid way down the sites. There was fluctuating water pressure. There was an outside table and fire pit but the layout for the campsites are strange to say the least. Some have the table and fire pit behind the parking pad and others have the table and fire pit on the side opposite the RV's door(s).
Tree line/canopy generally obstructed satellite reception for most sites. Only a few sites have line of sight to the Southern sky for roof mounted dishes. The few portable dishes required a lot of cable. Fortunately our site was not obstructed for the roof mounted satellite dish. Didn't have any luck getting any broadcast channels.
No WiFi provided but our own Verizon hotspot worked well.
No designated pet area but there was sufficient area to walk dogs along the park roads. There were bag dispensers and cans to collect waste.
For being in a hazardous/severe weather area, there was no underground storm shelter but the shower/laundry/bathhouses were constructed of concrete block. They weren't identified as a severe weather shelter.
Would not stay here again due to the condition of the parking pads.
