Very friendly and accommodating staff -- happy to make special arrangements for very late arrival . Rates are not as shown on GoodSam website ($37-44). Basic site with power and water only started at $65/night on a Saturday. Sites with more were higher still. Sites are grass without any defined parking pad or driveway. Despite being quite wet the ground was firm and we did not sink in or have any difficulty, but it looked like a possibility and was a bit disconcerting -- worked out fine for our... Read More

Despite being quite wet the ground was firm and we did not sink in or have any difficulty, but it looked like a possibility and was a bit disconcerting -- worked out fine for our 20' van. Not sure how a heavier rig would fare. This is a large campground with a single shower house. Shower house has two stalls for men / two for women. Shower stalls are sturdy and fairly roomy, but there is no shower curtain to subdivide the stall, and the shower sprays directly toward any clothes etc. you hang on the hooks provided inside the door. No bench or chair in the stall or elsewhere in the shower building. Logistically challenging if you'd like to keep your clean clothes dry during your shower! This is a nice setting and appears to offer a lot of activities and special events for families, which perhaps justify the fairly high rates for campers who are seeking that experience. For overnighters who are not participating in recreational activities the rate is well above average and the basic facilities do not justify the price.

Its a great place, we started camping at Oak Lake when the current owners took control of the facility in 2009. They have made many improvements over the last number of years and it has been a friendly and safe camp ground for many years. Give the place a try you will not be sorry.
