We had a nice time at this campground at our first visit although the sites are small, it is extremely overpriced, no wifi at the sites, and the owner smoked a lot and used extremely inappropriate language in front of guests (children and adults). We were able to store our camper there (for a price) for a return trip a few weeks later. What a mistake to go back! The owners are extremely rude and unbending with their crazy policies regarding the wood and cancellation. We have been RV'ing for 20+ years and this is the first time that we have been treated like this. We ended up leaving within an hour after arrival because of the way were treated. This campground is TERRIBLE!! Tunkhannock deserves better than this because it is such a beautiful area and definitely worth visiting, but do not stay at Cozy Creek!!
We are retired and full time in a 36' Motor home. This campground was not for us. It must have rained as the roads were filled with potholes/mud holes. Our pull-thru site was a sharp right turn off the road and must have been 37' long; we barely fit. We were very close to the roads and the road noise was loud from early morning to late at night. There were many permanent trailers with add-ons. Some were quaint and cute, but many were not. Our picnic table had rotten seat boards. When we sat on them, the bugs poured out of the rotten areas. Overall, it had no appeal or comfortable feeling for a retired couple. We mainly stay at Good Sam rated campgrounds. With this high of hating, we expected better. Families with kids may love it. There is tubing in the creek, a wonderful play area, pool and an old fire truck to climb on.
Very disappointed in this campground. Not well kept, requires many upgrades, mainly the sites should all have pads instead of mud, grass!! and dirt. Advertised WIFI availability, and there was none. Would not recommend to others or visit again, unless owners invested heavily in the park. Too bad, seemed highly rated. Did have cable TV though.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Pull through gravel site was level with room for slide outs. In spite of heavy rain during our stay, the dirt roads were not muddy and were smooth. Camp store is well stocked, with a small café available with food for takeout. Grounds were well kept and clean. Swimming pool does not have a lifeguard. Cable TV hookup available. WiFi access needs an account with Nexu Mesh Network. Dogs not permitted without rabies vaccination documentation.
This is, by far, the worst campground that we ever stayed in between upstate NY and Florida. The mens room was clean; but that is not a luxury. That is expected. The roads were a continuous pig sty, punctuated by mudholes everywhere. The place is in need of total restoration; and it is dirty . . inside and out. Dogs love it; because I counted 7 running around without any leash . . and guess what they did when they stopped. We are full time RVers, and were totally disappointed with our stay, to the point that we left 2 days early. I would quit RVing if I had to stay at this kind of campground.
The cabin was not cleaned well prior to our arrival. The bedrooms were ok, but the floors , kitchen & bathroom were dirty. The shower had hair in it & I thoroughly cleaned it before any of us used it. It was severely blocked when we checked in & the owner had to come to plunge it. The drain was a little better afterwards, but but the water was still over our feet, so we stopped using the shower.
The pots, pans & lids stored under the sink were dirty. My husband pulled out a pan to cook breakfast, and it actually had water in it. The coffee maker was extremely dirty and could not be used. I drove to Dunkin' doughnuts for my morning coffee.
The brochure they gave us at check-in was very outdated, so don't go by much in it. I was hesitant to stay at Cozy Creek because the price was quite high for the cabin. I was assured that everything was included in the price that was quoted to me, but this wasn't the case. I specifically asked if our dog was allowed in the cabin and wasn't told until check-in that there was an extra per night fee for having our dog there. You can't bring firewood in to the campground, and you are charged to get firewood there. It turned out to be a very overpriced, dissatisfying stay. I sent the owner 2 e-mails to voice my concerns and give her feedback, but she didn't respond.
Had another great labor day holiday weekend at Cozy Creek. We will make it a yearly gathering with family. We enjoy the fireworks and the local Wyoming County Fair. The owners are great hosts and we are looking forward to next year.
