Big Pines is one of the best camping experiences we've had in our five years of travelling. Beyond the typical amenities, Big Pines offers a quiet, secluded forest atmosphere and is close to many great sites and activities in the South Dakota Black Hills area. The Big Pine owners take great pride and work very hard to make sure your camping experience is the very best it can be. Reservations were easy, informative and we were able to request a specific site. Check-in was fast and painless and the owner escorted us to our site, ensured we were level with room for our four slide-outs and access to utilities. He even suggested the best location for our satellite and delivered firewood to our site within minutes of purchasing it at the office. Big Pine sites are spacious and strategically located beneath ponderosa pines with plenty of room between. Sites are gravel, mostly level with well-placed 20-30-50 amp utilities, a fire pit, picnic table, good water pressure and excellent Wifi available from 4 separate locations within the park. Even though no cable was available, it wasn't missed with so much to do in and around the Black Hills area. Although we didn't use the restrooms, we did check them out and found them to be immaculate. The laundry room was clean and spacious with 4 washers and dryers, tables for folding and racks for hanging clothes. Big Pines also provides a video game room, small library and 2 separate play areas for small children. All of these features were great, but the personal care and attention of the owners made our stay at Big Pines truly a pleasure. We will be back for sure!!

This park is well maintained. Pulling our 39' 5th wheel through the park was tight at a couple places. Make sure they know what you are camping in when making reservations so the appropriate size spot and ease of access can be considered. The owners of the park are the best. They helped us to our site and made sure we were parked in the best spot on the site for access and ability to get level. The roads got dusty a couple times, but other than that, our stay was awesome. The host even delivered... Read More

The host even delivered us some firewood on his UTV so we would not have to start up our truck or haul it back to site while walking. There were 2 adults and 3 small dogs staying at our site, #6. I will definitely stay here again. We have chosen our possible sites for our next visit.

The best campground we've every stayed in! A+++ all the way! They guide you to your site and help with getting your camper situated and disconnected, getting your motorcycles unloaded, storing your trailer in a good safe spot, or anything else you may need to get you settled into your site. Also anything else you may need upon your arrival, such as information, recommendations, maps, etc. they are very helpful and informative. Cleanest, well maintained grounds with good level sites and nice space... Read More

Cleanest, well maintained grounds with good level sites and nice space between sites with quiet time around 9:00 pm, bath houses immaculately cleaned every morning. They have fire wood and ice for sale and delivered to your site within minutes of request. They have a small game room for kids with a few playgrounds and a laundry room (very clean also), also very pet friendly. A must stay!! My wife and I and dog will go back, owners are very down to earth, they run their own campground with pride and it shows. This campground is definitely one of the prettiest you'll ever stay in with all the beauty and the gorgeous tall pines!! Also, of all the little towns around, none are like Custer!! We didn't want to leave..
