Been here before 2 years ago in the summer and liked it. Very nice pool complex. However this time was different and I will not return. The wife planned a fall weekend visit with plans on having local family visit. So we arrived and inquired as to the visitor cost. $20 per adult $15 per child no matter how long the visit, they said 15 seconds or 5 hours, same price. So if our family of 4 visits for 2 to 3 hours they pay $70 for the abilty to visit our site? The pool is closed and nearly every scheduled... Read More

They rudely claimed the fee is for all the activities but when confronted that only 2 of the 12 are no cost they had nothing to say. So we did not get to see our family because we all agreed these prices are outrageous and refuse to just hand over $70 for next to zero service provided. I get the need for visitor fees but during offseason when there is basically nothing that costs them $ you should be charging no more than $5 a person. Worse yet you can tell everyone complains of this so they give you an attitude right back when you complain about it. Plus the golf cart rentals were $80 a night off-season. This no my first bad experience with adventure bound resorts. They are mismanaged from the top down.

The big attraction is the water park and pool for the kids, they do not disappoint. The big down side is the drive there is challenging. Many narrow roads that wind around at steep angles up and down the mountain no matter what way you choose. Once there everything else is ok just stay there the whole time. The transient sites are big and in the woods but make sure you rent a golf cart or you will be hiking back from the pool. People working there were nice overall. Since the water park is second... Since the water park is second to none in the mid atlantic area and driving to and from is challenging it's great for a long weekend with the kids.
