NOT Big Rig Friendly.. But one of the prettiest State Parks I've ever stayed in. While many of the RV site, are listed as 50 feet and some even more, many of the pull through sites, are "turn through" sites. As they have a major turn in the middle of them, making them unusable to larger RV's. The campground roads themselves are narrow and with 1 foot drop offs right at the edge that would blow a tire, or damage a sidewall. These drop offs on the side of the campground roads, could be easily fixed,... Read More

These drop offs on the side of the campground roads, could be easily fixed, and I encourage, the park staff to do so. Check in is up the 9 degree hill, and at the top there is no designated RV parking spots, and you have to make an 180 turn to exit check-in area, then go back down the 9 degree hill, to the campground. Yes, I still give this park 5 stars. Why... Cause if you have a camper 25 feet or smaller, then this state park is among the best, I've ever stayed in. Great location, relaxing among the century old Oaks and long leaf pines, evening campfires, great friendly staff, very clean restrooms, and just 2 miles away is Callaway Gardens.

This state park is a gem! Beautiful setting on a man made lake. We camped in Site 101 a 85' long pull thru with the door of the 5th wheel facing the lake. What a view!!! Several loops are near the lake and two off the lake but with more shade. Mix of back ins and pull throughs. The reason for the lower rating for the bathrooms is that in the first loop the restroom is older and needs to be updated, but the other loops have much newer restrooms that are very nice. All sites have electric (some... Read More

All sites have electric (some 30 amp, some 50 amp) and water. The dump station can accommodate two units at one time. Standard rate is $26 per night, but senior citizens get a 25% discount. Walking trails, boat rentals at the lake, and swimming pool 1 1/2 miles from the campground. Beautiful drive along a ridge to FDR's Little White House in Warm Springs.
