the park's setting and site layout, function and identification of signage, overall exterior building maintenance, noise, trash disposal, litter and debris around the grounds and sites, and appearance of grounds, sites and entrance area.
Great value for pull through, FHU in this area!
Gravel pads long enough for RV + toad. Restaurant on site and small convenience store. Bathhouse and dump station (did not use). Friendly service. Truck noise did not bother us any more than any other CG near a highway. No picnic tables, fire rings, just clean site with everything working as it should!
Pull in at Truck Entrance and park on far right @ IHop parking. Check in on the left side Travel Center entrance, go to left after entering — pay at fuel dedk. Overnight sites on first terrace, note signage.
Over night stay in site 45. Gravel site that is level on one area. In order to get MH and toad on site had to move off level area. Leveling jacks would not work because of "excessive slope." The wifi is slow.
We stayed on a Mondayy night then came back on Friday the same week. The same rubbish was still on the washroom floor on each occasion. We told staff who assured us caretaker cleaned restrooms very day. This is obviously not the case. I suggest they need a new caretaker. We did enjoy Berkys meals and watching the trucks at night
I have stayed here several times over the years. I keep coming back because of the ease of access, cost and the proximity to Lexington.
You have to check in at the fuel desk. It takes forever and it is all on paper. Lots of different pieces of paper. Very inefficient. If you want a monthly stay you can only speak to two people, who may or may not be available. They have improved on that since they used to have to call some lady that worked at a bank and ask her permission and she may or may not call back but it was guaranteed she wasn't available for the call to begin with. When the wifi works, it is slow. Once the truckers fill up the lot it will not work at all. As of right now it does not work at all.
The lower drive through spots are very good. You get good views from most the spots. The power and water is good. The upper lots need more gravel etc (they are soft). The upper lots also need cleaning.
I would rate it higher if they did some house keeping, maintenance, and improved the check in / reservation procedures.
